The lower mirror is not sufficiently wide-angle for me to see vehicles approaching from the passenger side when pulling out at awkwardly angled junctions. I've tried a convex mirror attached to the passenger sun visor, which sometimes helps but takes time to deploy and does not give full coverage. Something like this could be the solution. @Exwindsurfer, have you taken any measures to obviate theft of the mirror?Thought that what the lower mirror for with it being a wide angle mirror.
That's right. There are two locally at which it's totally impossible and many others encountered over the years - usually with a passenger, fortunately!Junctions are a big problem if on your own, I do my best to approach the road as near to 90 as possible to have a better view but you can't always do that.
It's was only 8 quid plus I had to alter it to get the angle I wanted. I have to say its spot on now.The lower mirror is not sufficiently wide-angle for me to see vehicles approaching from the passenger side when pulling out at awkwardly angled junctions. It was an automotive review site that referred to the theft issue with a number of blind spot mirrors that are fastened in this way and said that it would be a hassle having to remove and reinstall every night. And of course, it's not just the cost, it's also the inconvenience of no longer having it available until replaced. It's was only 8 quid plus I had the alter it to get the angle I wanted. I use one on my Ducato, for the reasons you have mentioned. Essential at oblique junctions over the pond when driving solo. Does your one move up and down as well as from side to side? I currently use one that does this, from Halfords, but the mirror area is a bit small and the quality is so poor the mirror surface degrades quite quickly. If anyone knows where I can get a larger mirror that moves in both planes please put a linky up.It's was only 8 quid plus I had to alter it to get the angle I wanted. I have to say its spot on now.
