Both sites

I am using both and think that will continue to be the case as often we wildcamp but recently started using campsites. See no problem having two forums, although I can see that some issues are common to both (motorhome chat ) just have to decide which forum to ask those type of questions on. I will probably stick with WC as my first choice ( there is a comfort and confidence when you have seen lots of names before) but the two sites will fill different functions. Only been to one meet, not really our thing at moment. Thanks for the explanation Admin useful and unexpectedly poetic!

I will make a full statement later today on wild camping that will hopefully clear up any misconceptions people have.

Some of us wildcampers that enjoy going to meets will have to use the site as a second home as this will be where the meets will be posted.
I know that Annie I did say...

I do not want people to move here from wild camping, if they want to use both site because they enjoy them then that is great. Some members who do not enjoy wild camping may move here exclusively, but that is their choice.

Just clarifying oh wise one I will be on both as long as I'm not naughty and getter banned lol as these now are the only two forums I am on now.

come on folks this has been discussed openly for most of the last year , phil explained that several companies he had approached had recoiled at the mention of wildcamping and mooted a name change, several of us suggested the sister site at the time and personally i’m glad to see the new development and i’m pleased he is running it as a partnership not a divorce , this site is not officially launched for a couple of months and the user friendly improvement in the last two weeks is already noticeable, for the moment i’ll just thankfully accept the free gift of a twin website

I really can't see a problem. There are now two sites available. We have been given free membership on this site. The choice is ours. Use one or both.

For those of us with more free time available it's an added bonus.

You are quite right, I am using both sites and this one gets better and better with each tweak.

What you do in the privacy of your own home is probably better left unsaid !

See n Brown post on w c , no wonder you are banned member , I could be offended NOT ??

I look at about 7 Motorhome forums easy to jump from one to another, I am a computer numpty so if I can do it I see no reason others can't , it makes a change to read other forums as each and all tend to become stale at times , so, let your fingers do the walking and settle where you are happy Simples ??:Smiling_Face_Emoji:

I'm using both sites and will continue to do so as I have the time to! At the moment I feel "more at home" on the big green W but I'm sure I'll get used to finding my way round here. My only concern is whether to duplicate any threads I start? Thanks, Phil, for all the effort ... we can only benefit from two sites.

I have to confess to having WC as my go to forum. It's name describes what I like doing with my van. I have to make an effort to come over here and get involved. I know I'm a Luddite but it comes with age.

Not sure on which site I should read or post on yet, trying to get to grips with both. Be less confusing if forums have different topics, I understand the meets/rallies will be on here & the WC POI's will on the other site but what about duplicate topics such as Motorhome Technical as an example which could be on either site. Is it less confusing & an advantage to just have it on the one site? We also tend to do most of our wildcamping in Europe except for the odd night or two in this country. In the UK tend to go more on C&CC/MCC meets.

No excuse age. I used to claim to be a Luddite until a mate told me I was just stupid. You could well be the same.

You are right of course. I could be stupid, fortunately I'm not rude enough to suggest that someone else is.

I'm a bit of a luddite too, but I must say that I'm enjoying the new forum, and getting used to finding my way around. I still go to WC first though.

I don't know why some of us think we're being robbed of something, to my mind, there are now two excellent sites for me to peruse & engage with, if I want an answer to a problem, first thing I do is search on the forums that have members that I trust to give some help or support, I don't have any favourites, I like them for what they are.

I find that most people are pretty much down to earth, that there's no real agenda being played out by those who are scared or nervous about this new site & I feel that maybe some are still concerned about WC being diluted in some way, when in reality it will become stronger, because it'll be more focused on wild camping & the experiences of the wild campers who choose to share the fun & games they've had while being away from the madding crowd.

While on this forum, I assume the talk will be more about official camp sites & the facilities etc., that have been found in the areas away from the wilder side of life!

So I wish both sites well, long may they be there to entertain & help their members & I hope all will come to see this as a positive step forward for both forums. I do!!

Phill

I think the main point is that while we are all members of both, there will soon be a contingent who join MH only as it suits their needs (Jan 18) . New members will not be confused as they won't be members of WC unless they want to. Also, and this is personal, I get confused easily and have a tendency to overthink! It's great that there is enough demand for so many forums and I can see it's a sensible move now that the underlying reasons have been clarified. Once the new forum has been up and running it will be just a case of cross checking answers to a problem / issue on another forum which happens now.
Have not explained my line of thinking very well but that's why I am not admin of a forum!!??
