This was a rhetorical question. You can spend your money as you wish. And yes, you have now an enormous choice of cl's and cs's. Although, from experience, the site owner, would be happy enough to take your fiver +, and not worry overmuch about your having the right club card.
Besides, how often do you get away? Unless you're full time, getting value for money, you'd need to be away very often.
Again, from my very limited experience, I'm hard pushed, with continental travel, Motorhomer meet ups, meeting friends, to get full value from one organisation. The last sentence has been made utter nonsense by the current lockdown of course.
