I recently got a new THREE contract and one of the options I got when I registered on-line was an option to chose how much I was willing to pay over and above the contract (including choosing a £Zero amount).
Ref the Firesticks, you can change the settings to control how much data each hour of viewing typically uses and in data saving mode it is very low but the quality does not seem that affected. Might be worth checking out if not looked already? But might be an option on the newer Fire Sticks as I have noticed that can't be set on a couple of the Sticks I have.

Now that isa find, I have been um and ahing about home broadband for quite a while now. We have been enabled for fibre to the premises but very limited on who can/will provide and cheapest is £54 a month at the moment. Ordinary ADSl with line rental is costing me £36 and I can bring that down to £29 if I change provider and take longer contract. Been waiting as I want to sell house this year.
Well I thought so I am giving up home broad band when my contract expires as we are away for 7 or 8 mths a year and still have to pay for home B/B whether using it or not. The router which comes with this offer works off 12v thru a plug adaptor so can be powered direct from the vans 12v electric supply
Mine arrives tomorrow and I am doing exactly the same, won’t matter when I sell the house now, as if we moved to Hull they only allow Kingston Comminications so I would get charges for cancelling.
I was told at our 3 shop not to take to much notice of phone signal as mobile broad band works on the lower freq band which phones don't necessarily connect to. At home our 3 phone signal isn't great but the mifi with a 3 data sim seems to work well proving this to be correct
Be aware that the UK government has just (very quietly) announced that free EU roaming will NOT continue in the case of a no-deal brexit. They have acquiesced to the phone companies who said it would cost too much. If there is a deal, I don't know what happens but it doesn't look good.
But Three were the only company, before free roaming, to do their "Feel at home" or similar. Let's hope that would come back.
I can confirm this, in the van I normally tether to my phone if it has a good enough signal. If not I turn on my 5577C that has a Three data sim fitted and normally get a signal okay. An exception I did find so far was over at Burrowhead near Wigtown in Newton Stewart. My works EE phone also had no EE signal but on return I noticed that had a text saying welcome to Manx something or other so they have a roaming agreement.
