Do we have any would be doctors on here?

I've just got a appointment for the 14th of next month to have 3 systs removed of my left kidney one is 70mm in diameter the second one is 50mm and wasn't told how big the third one is so I've got something to look forward to lololol.

Ps they drained them last year but have since filled up again lol

Liz had hers done in 2010/11, ready for new pair now though.

Genuine question...
Are GP surgeries owned/funded in a similar way to (I believe ) up to 60% of vets, by hedge funds?
I assume the same could apply to dentists?

No idea Tim, they certainly seem to be more and more interested in profits.

I have had both knees and my right shoulder replaced. Knees have been no problem, first in 2011, but shoulder (2018) has had 2 further ops and 3 "procedures"! In Feb booked in for Nerve Blocker injection which apparently might remove the pain.
I too think the hip is your problem.

i have had hip replacement pudsey........your description of symptoms did not match mine..
however, i do have spinal stenosis (among many other things )which symptoms are very similar to yours
ask (press) for xray and scan which hopefully will determine problem......it may not be either....could be something else...good luck

I asked for an MRI actually Trixie

pudsey, if it is the hip no need to fear the op.......feel the difference immediately after the op.......no pain at all.you will be a new you...
.lady in next bed to me had the spinal injection...she was up and walking about within a few days after op... she was 73 yrs old.......
hip replacement is easier than a knee replacement,

Yeah, don't fear the op. Hip replacement in 2022 gave me my life back. Had the spinal injection and they had me up on my feet to use the bog the next morning. Started cycling again after about 4 months.

No pain at all is far from what I've heard, recovery times can be over 12 months.

The trouble is you hear from both sides, some recover really easily and quickly, others take longer and some have complications. If it needs doing and is causing you problems now, it won't get better....a lot of the recovery is doing the physio afterwards. I know people who did not recover well but didn't do the recommended aftercare. I also know those who say it has changed their lives for the better.

yes, overyone ifs different.....I had was in hosp 10/12 days...
..couldnt move fsrom waist down after the op for a good 5/6 days..
..howeveri the pain from the hip had gone...which was a big bonus...
i did have other complications tho.......which i still have.....
however......i really couldnt have gone on with the pain which my hip was causing me.
it was a huge relief to be free from the hip pain.

anyway try not to worry....wait for the MRI results...it may not be the hio....good luck

I'm still puzzled by the pain I'm getting, I went to bring a wheelie bin up from down the hill the other day and I was in a lot of pain going down (stupid boy) but coming back up it was agony, but not so much from the hip joint more the muscles in my thigh, it go to the point where I couldn't put my foot down to take another step, fortunately, some chap driving past realised I was in trouble, stopped and took the bin up for me and secured it, but it took me ages to get back into the house, I had to sit a while before I could go up the steps & when I got inside I had to sit for ages before the pain subsided enough to let me move again.

What's worse is Liz has finally admitted that she has hip pain too, but only in the actual joint, no muscular at all so I need to know what that is I can bear the joint pain for now, but the muscle pain stops me doing much.

So the reason for this post is to ask if those who have had their hips done had the muscle pain too?
