Do you wave?

Forgot to say I recently saw a van with the passenger holding up a wooden arm with a hand on top for a wave, perhaps that's the way to go!

Sure I give wave when safe to do so and usually get a wave back. But it is all the different types of waves that amuse me. Starting with while holding the wheel the single finger flick, the four finger flick, side to side role. Hand off the wheel the wrist flick, the Queen wave, the full Hitler, cleaning the window wave, finally the whole family wave. This brings me round to I have a big green wildcamping W on my front screen which I think means WAVE at me! Never seen them on other vans though.?

Yes I always wave, it's very nice to get a wave back as I travel alone. Don't always get one though. I do wave at campers but very rarely get a wave back

There you go I’ll wave to everyone evev tesco vans some look surprised some wave back ?

I waved at two Motorhomes this morning they didn’t wave back at all though I was in my car ????

When we first got our MH we waved all the time, both of us. Then one day the wave we got back looked more like the lazy Wehrmacht salute used on "Ello Ello" by Lt Gruber - from that moment on we assigned the name"Klop" to the action of waves and would often discuss during the early evening the amount of Klops we'd received and the various types.
I only Klop on single carriageways whilst the OH will Klop even in car parks whilst pushing the supermarket trolley! We do not differentiate between types of MH/Van/Conversion/Classes to us we are all on a journey and taking our accommodation with us!

Always wave if safe, am also a hater of Tesco vans, mistake them to often in the distance, also the tour mini buses in Scotland. Still better to wave than not IMO. Our answer to those that don't respond is always " must be on their way back from a miserable holiday"

The Wave game :
Driver and passenger take it in turns to be on.
  • 2 Points if the oncoming MH waves first.
  • 1 point if your wave is returned.
  • 3 points if the oncoming MH driver and passenger return your wave.
  • 4 points if the Tesco delivery driver waves.
  • -1 for no wave.
This is similar to the pub game that adults invented to keep us kids happy in the back of the car.
  • Take it in turns to be on.
  • Each pub that is passed is worth a number of points equal to the number of arms and legs in the pub name.
  • Some examples :
    • Queen's Head 0 points.
    • Horse and Jockey 8 points.
    • Slug and Lettuce 0 Points.
    • King's Arms 2 Points.
    • Drunken Sailor 2 Points. (Because he was legless)

10 points if you manage to get in a 1 fingered wave before they pass by after not waving back at you

I dont wave , usually just put hand up palm first , only on single carriageway , dont get that many returns , :( some I think is down to being LHD as they probably are looking at passenger seat

I never wave. Why would I? When driving my car I never wave at other drivers so why, when in my van, should it be any different? It's not that we are a minority novelty item on the roads anymore, is it?

Shelley likes to wave at passing motorhomes, I have explained that several lanes apart on the motorway is too far though!
