European sunshine birds 2025

Dead jealous.
They never had such deluxe facilities in our travelling days.

And they've even put the fires out for you.

There is one that's still alight, north of Chaves. But it shouldn't bother you lucky lot.

Couple o pics from last month, left 5th September until the 4th October. We took the ferry from Newcastle to the Netherlands visiting friend's for a night in Twello. Set off through Germany spending a couple of nights in Bavaria just so happened to be a brewery where we parked. A week or so in Slovenia, such a scenic beautiful country with friendly people and also speak excellent English. There again found a local brewery with exceptionally good beer, i have introduced them to a few breweries I look after and they are currently arranging to do a collaboration brew with a couple of them which will involve visiting each others brewery exchanging ideas and finally doing a brew. Popped over the border into Italy for a couple of days but the weather was rather wet so nipped in to Croatia then back through Slovenia to Austria. Germany then the Netherlands. 20250905_201938.jpg20250907_110556.jpg20250911_104134.jpg20250914_100132.jpg20250914_102457.jpg20250914_120246.jpg20250914_125011.jpg20250916_115714.jpg20250917_110119.jpg20250918_101926.jpg

we’re at an aire on the banks of the gironde just above bordeaux as well as a beautiful old town there is the obligatory vineyard before going for a taste thought i’d look it up too rich for my blood , the citadel dates from the 16th century but during ww2 the germans dug into the cliffs below and built massive fuel tanks 7 of them each holding M10 ltrs IMG_3361.jpegIMG_2323.png
