Feb 27 th update Must be my birthdayUPDATE. TODAY. Looks like our trip abroad is being delayed dvla!

They have my tickets at dvla the medical side are on reduced staff and going on strike on Monday they told me ,
they have my licences dave

Over the years they have come up with some lame excuses but it is always medical one's like the last one for my HGV was eye test 3 times I still don't wear glasses 2 month's to get a report from doctor about my sleep apnea, then best one lets put you on a tread mill, Well that one got me blood pressure slow coming back down still 2 months before they told I couldn't drive HGV any more that was after I had a stent put in my heart

+Just on another note I have to complement dfds for the fantastic service they have given me with all this mucking about .the advisor Chris has been very very helpful and left nothing unattended

Abso pain in the back end sue, they never let on until today about the circumstances and my stuff is all ok just waiting to get processed then sent out I've even got a ref number😩
Must be so frustrating! We had to wait to get Dave's licence back for 15 mths, when initially it was taken for six, extended to a year and then delayed three months. That was due to "covid backlog" . I got fed up with driving and we proved his navigation was less than good! I hope you get away soon.

Still awaiting
I shouldn't say this, Gordon, but I can the ironic event looming ...

Part of the problem with processing your Licence is the industrial action at DVLA. When you get your licence and can depart for France, you'll head for Newhaven, where Border Force staff are delaying sailings by undertaking industrial action ... They last took industrial action, IIRC, before the EU Referendum, when loading/unloading was a breeze and undertaken quickly, For that episode of [in]action, Border Force staff checked EVERY vehicle, and very thoroughly too!
