First time Motorhomer in September - Advice Needed

Been looking through a few TripAdvisor posts who are saying MHs are being advised to stay away. Booking sites are essential? And don't expect a warm welcome?

We are happy to wild camp as the MH is self contained, maybe cook a site every few days to dump waste and fill water.

Beautiful scenery, some nice walks, nice food and a relax is all we are after.

We had a glorious time in NW Scotland a few years ago in September - the weather was superb, almost tropical.

still lots of bloody midges though!

Midges on east coast of Scotland are normally not a problem in September, BUT a must to watch is the daily midge forecast, the website is pretty good for advising where to avoid.
