French and Dog Crap

Today we are in Nonancourt. They are making a tremendous effort here to stop dog mess. There are signs and bins everywhere! They are even providing bags next to the bins. It’s great to walk round and not have to watch where you’re stepping the whole time.

You can travel through Spain and use campsites. If there are more French than Germans there is more dog crap on the pavements. Don’t they ever clear it up. Just come into France from Jaca. Had a nice walk round Jaca all nice and clean. Arrived at French Aire and been for a wander round the village and there is dog crap everywhere. It doesn’t take more than 30 seconds to clear up after your dog. We always have bags with us.

Definitely improving . Generally appears to be old gits , mostly , who just leave shit lying .
Actually saw a girl this morning , in Spain , washing away her dogs pee with a bottle of water . Unnecessary ?

I live near the border of Wales. When out walking in the countryside, my friends and I have noticed the Welsh don't seem to pick up their dog's poo as much as the English do. Or maybe Welsh dogs poo more?

My general impression is people from UK are more than likely to pick it up (unfortunately not all) .
Can't say I've noticed a huge difference in mainland Europe countries . Guy came out of an office in Spain to thank me for picking up .
Drunken conversation a while back , somebody remarked that you never see a white jobby anymore . You do in France and Spain etc .
Have to say small towns and villages in France tend to be immaculate

As you say, small villages are ok. But they do need to get there shit together....!

The first time I crossed the waters onto French soil traveling southwards with various aires stop offs, removing all poo our dog did but getting strange looks with it being our first time it took us a few days to realise that they didn't clean poo after their dogs, (so they was wondering what we where doing) over the years I have noticed some towns exercise please pick up after your dogs even supplying poo bags but still after years down the line their is dog poo everywhere it makes me eve - but to be honest I get it here at home - I live on a no traffic through to a country park so they do it on the tree lined grass verges

I suppose when it comes down to it I prefer the honesty in France. They don’t often clean up. In Britain I often see people picking up but then tossing the bag later. At least in France it degrades quickly no matter how unpleasant to start with but in UK there is now a bag in the hedge that is going to be there for a long long time
