I think that was the time the we were plagued all evening by the attentions of a local campsite owner, who said we had no right to use a public car park and instead we should be using the local campsite which he forgot to mention he owned.Morning is there any meet up areas this time? I think last time we did a stop over at the car park at the British legion in Wick, they very kindly opened the bar for us ?
I am not sure, I am planning on going to Findhorn beach on the way up but otherwise will probably just check on Brit Stops and other apps for overnight parkingMorning is there any meet up areas this time? The last time we had a meet on Orkney I stayed behind & got the ferry to Westray where we stayed for a few nights & saw 100s of puffins. We are normally in Scotland in September and October haven't been up there so early in many years
It's just occurred to us there should be quite a few Puffins about in June!
On the way home we will probably divert to Duncansby Head or even our favourite Puffin spot Cape Wrath, but any suggestions where to see them on the Island?
Don't say 'the Orkneys' as it is known as Orkney. You don't want to upset locals. Enjoy your trip.I'll also be going over on the 12th, two weeks is not really enough to discover the Orkneys, after the. last meet my wife & I took the ferry to Westray where we saw loads of puffins.
This year I hope to make it to Hoy.

Pleasantly suprised at the cost of the ferry also, seem to remember it was around £55 for a journey of 1.1/2 hours for a 5mtr campervan.
Last time up here many of us stayed at the car park by the river in Riverside Road in Thurso, a stone's throw from the ferry at Scrabster.Morning is there any meet up areas this time? What pet would travel in this? Gerbil, goldfish, St Bernard ?Got a free pet travel kit if anyone wants it?
Was intended for one of our cats but never been used.
Been sitting in our "pet cupboard" ever since.
Height when not in use is just under 18cm high by 15cm wide.
Can bring it up to Orkney if anybody can use it?
