So sorry you not going to make it Robert we were so looking forward to seeing you and the dogs. Hope Ava is ok and that your van is soon dried out and fixed. Love Chris, Jeff and Luna xx

Heading to Helmsdale from aviemore. Satnav is saying there is a low bridge (2.90m) near Golspie. We are 3.10. I cannot see it on the map. Does anyone know of this? Thanks.

Update. The very friendly lady at the campsite had a good laugh and said the satnav 'must be having a moment'. I thought it must be wrong as it is the main road north (A9). we are currently shadowing a large HGV so it can take the bridge out for us anyway. 😂

I think I made the right decision to stay at home weather wise not looking good but if I hadn't the problem with my roof I would be there Ava is getting better all the time looking at me as she on short rations for the next few days

We also left Helmsdale today and have not found the low bridge yet 🤔
Well we have found it! Fortunately it is not on the main road. There is a small left turn, but no self respecting motorhome would attempt, and about 15 yards down it is a very low and very narrow railway bridge. Clearly a slight positional error from Stella!

Well, this is my private (very level) park up for the night at the side of a croft overlooking the Bay of Myre. 👌🙏

It’s lovely to have had a chance meeting with such kind strangers on an Orkney ferry! ☺️🤗

Don’t know who else is already on the island apart from the guys I met waiting in the queue for boarding, but guess we’ll see you all at the Ness on Wednesday 😎😉

Yup, it’s proper piddling down, not a mote of dust to be seen anywhere 🙃

We saw some of them fishing alongside the ferry next to Hoy on the way over this afternoon 👍 Probably my imagination, but there seem to be a few more birds around than last year. Seabird population has been decimated with bird flu, here’s hoping they’re making a little comeback 🤞

We're on our way, around Dingwall at the moment. We've got a tyre problem though and are deciding what's best to do. Had 4 new tyres fitted 2 weeks ago but one is slowly losing pressure. Kwik Fit in Inverness took a look at it today and said the alloy was damaged when the new tyre went on. They recommend keep checking the tyre is fully inflated each day and carry on with the holiday, then take it back to the garage when we get home. My OH is thinking we should probably just head back home 😥 We're going to decide in the morning

Get yourself an automatic tyre pump. Neil got us one each for our cars a while back as we both kept having problems with slow punctures on just one tyre on each vehicle.

All tyres on both vehicles now dealt with, but the tyre pump was a godsend until I could find the time to actually get my tyre sorted out properly, and it was no big deal to use it.

It’s easy enough to check the tyres regularly and just whack the pump on to get them back up to pressure.

Would be a real shame to miss the trip because of a slow puncture… and also the weather forecast is predicted to brighten up! 😃👍😂
