I suspect so....

Even my local place that's always the cheapest locally has risen to 80p per litre...

In the scale of thing you shouldn't you be glad you were able to get it.
Why do you say that?
My understanding is that all LPG comes into Europe through the UK.

I have never had a problem finding lpg ever since I got refillable bottles. I use one bottle then swap onto the other, from that point I just keep half an eye open for someone selling lpg. If I had an underslung I would do the same when I got to 50%. I think a lot of the posts about no lpg are people who want to fill within a small radius of their home.

Rather like other commodities, I think they're charging what they think they can get away with if there's no local competition.
In the case of the place mentioned by the OP, according to FillLPG the nearest alternative is just the other side of Southampton at Bursledon Road, Sholing, at 89p per litre.

The most I have paid is 79p at the beginning of July but on the 24th I paid 69p the price varies a lot same as diesel.

We tend to refill the LPG when we fill up with Diesel. The cost for the top up is usually between £10 and £15, and with Aires being between free and €10pn, the overall cost of the stay and getting to the Aire is very low.

76 nights since the start of year 2 of ownership has cost us £358.64 in site fees, less than £5pn. LPG is pennies short of £50 for the 3 months+ period, so still less than £6pn overall

I do the same, one bottle connected one on standby the one in use actually emptied , first time ever that has happened as I normaly [ remember normal ] top up as and when I see gas on sale , so the bottles never ran out I could have got a refill at Oxford but I was 12 miles away so decided to get it near home, thus the price .

Yes I know that Garage but as you say it is on the eastern side of Southampton and we live in the west , often over that way in the Car but not in the van, , there is a Motorhome dealer about 500 yards from the Garage you posted if any one is interested in a look sometime, Aldi, Lidl and the Range too I was born in Sholing or Spike Island as it is known. there is a Morrisons near where we live but I have never been there or know if they have LPG , not seen it on the app. Our nearest garage in Swaythling sold LPG at one time but not any more and they were always the cheapest around here .

For several years, the going price for LPG has been somewhere between half the price of petrol and half the price of diesel.
By that reckoning, over £1 is a ripoff, but anything under 90p is reasonable.

I would rather they charged £1.07 than stopped selling it. If people don’t buy it at that price they will either reduce the price or more likely stop selling it.

Last time I filled up on LPG it was £1.10/L. £1.07 is a 'Meeh' not a WOW to me :(

You people with lots of options where to fill are lucky! "Go to Morrisons" is the call ... neither of the Morrisons near ('near' being relative - at least 20 miles away for the closest) don't even sell LPG.
End of the day, when buying a small quantity of something like LPG, the cost on Diesel of diverting to a cheaper price for the LPG would be a false saving so I just get it based on passing a pump.

I never pass a pump; but I would never eat one in the first place ... 🤭

A recent fire destroyed a Motorhome and a big part of the garage at Morrisons Weymouth , it appeared to be an American van, if it proves to be [the fire ] due to LPG filling it could be the death knoll of Morrisons LPG sales the garage is closed for several weeks now apparently . WOW that is going to be some Insurance claim Methinks ??

I have very little doubt it was an engine fire and likely caused by a perished fuel hose going by where all the destruction is - at the front where the big V10 Petrol Engine is located on a 25+ year old RV

Makes a change from the usual flame baked VW Bay....
Petrol hose that never gets changed running over the top of the hot engine/exhausts....
I've even seen more than one very nice restoration go up for the sake of new fuel hose.

Luckily that Morrisons doesn’t sell LPG
