Have you named your van

After read another posting got me thinking do we all have names for our vans. And how we came up with the name?
I have had 4 vans first was MILLY because when we bought her the key ring had cartoon picture of woman named Milly So that became her name sold her and bought bigger van so she was Big Milly sold her next one was Shamu as she was even bigger and black & white wife said it looks like a big whale. {Shamu Disney land whale} Have just sold her. Not got a name yet for the new van, picking it up next month.

We sailed for a number of years so when we got our first motorhome it seemed natural to name it. As our final boat had been called Half Time by her first owner we named our MH More Time as we intended to use her a lot. After a couple of years we bought our current MH, an Autotrail Apache 632. Sue (my wife) wanted to name her again so after some research we named her Polly. This came about by finding an Apache squaws name of Polikwaptiwa (I think that's how its spelt) which translates to 'Butterfly sitting on a flower'
If any sees us on our travels with Polly on the stern (oops, back bumper) please say hello.

Those of us that have a Bessacar often call it/her "Bessie"
I note that female names seem more popular. We have a Lunar so I toyed with LUCY.
I often refer to it as "The Beast" as it is a big lump to park..
Not that big compared with "A Class" or over 3500kg.
I say a big lump but it drives and cruises very well... Maybe I should revert to Lucy or maybe "Lucifer whilst parking"

As the new van is silver and a lot smaller and my last van was like a whale. I think The Sardine for new one

Billy Bedford - Bedford based Autosleeper Utopia.
Tommy Transit - Transit based Autoseeper Excelsior.
Larry - Autosleeper Luxor.
Reggie - Rapido 9048DF.

Or just "The Van" or "The Bus"...................

Two years in and still struggling to find a suitable name. The last three characters on the registration is MEF so I thought "Myfanwy". SWMBO not so impressed. Having googled it now it seems even more fitting as in Welsh it means "my lovely little one".... We're a long way from Wales mind you.

We've given cars names sometimes, usually by their reg number, but our van is known as "the van". This maybe because we picked the reg for Bill and Susies Van.

If it's on a Fiat then it's just called the F,ing old Fiat :Smirk_Face_Emoji:

Just thought of after reading names after No Plate I could call new one D-Van As my reg as its MY 65 BED

I named my first van but never again, cost over a grand to repair the damage caused by the champagne bottle...

As a relative newcomer to motorhoming we started off with a 'Van Called Wanda'. Then it seemed that everyone and his (or her) dog called theirs 'Wanda'. Then seeing as it is a Lunar, we re named it 'Tic' (Lunar-Tic), but that fell flat, so seeing as I'm an owd drunk it became this-----

We always name ours.... just seems the right thing to do. Never very imaginative it’s Sylvie cous she’s silver!

Also call all mine Van sometimes It or being formal Motorhome, in France le Camping Car, Germany Wohnmobil, in Spain Autocaravana, possibly one other name for my current 2017 Swift Escape but it wouldn't be particularly nice & might get me banned from the site for bad language. As for giving them any identity with a personal name can't see the point it's just an expensive lump of metal/plastic which hopefully hold together & make my travels a bit more comfortable.

My first campervan was an Autosleeper Frisky on a Ford Transit base, the kids called it the Frisky Tranny.
Second was a 6 berth Elddis, Bruce after the film Bruce Almighty 'cos it was big.
Then another Frisky, so Frisky Too (2).
The little Romahome C15D had a big name - Johann Sebastian Bach - due to his BWV reg. no.
The Swift was Harry because he was a Sundance (The Sundance Kid was Harry). He would have been Sunny but I had a caravan years ago that was called Sunny so couldn't have it again.
The current one is Teefer, as he's T4 Trooper, in memory of a good friend who was T4Tony and we called Teefer.
