How close would you park

but normally at meets they are about and will move vans or fthey wont be that close

let me see next to Robmac 30mtrs ?? anyone else 3/4mtrs any closer and I cannot get my time out of my garage.

I'm not too fussy about how close, but I do like to have a clear drive out space if needed. Like a lot of things, common sense is better than hard and fast rules IMHO.

I would always try and park as far away as possible from other vans and ill just move on if its packed like sardines. Im not bothered about the van catching fire, just dont like being cheek to jowl

I don't understand people parking so close .when we go to meets fes people park so close .
I am rude sarcastic .tell people i dont like company but there still there in the mornings.

We park mainly on aires in France, so, as long as I can get the door open and get out of the van, I’m not too bothered

The fire was at a dealers in Nortern Ireland which is why they wee so close. Mainly vans in for hab service.

As regards how close I park in the UK I like the 6m guidance https://blueskyrecreation.wordpress...g-on-camping-pitches-just-what-are-the-rules/
But abroad this is not always possible. On an Aire in Calais I had to reverse with a motorcycle trailer onto the last pitch. On one side I used the step my neighbour had put out because there wasn't room to fit 2 steps, on the other side I could only open the window a couple of inches and had to fold the mirror.

.

We used leisure technical services when we were in Ireland. Simon was amazing in sorting out our fridge problems. We have been told we had bad gas and would need all our pipes reworked. He identified a burnt out unit at the back of the fridge in minutes. Sorted that and put a filter on our gas intake. Really really nice bloke. Really sorry for him and his colleagues.
One of the issues with motorhome dealers such as Highbridge, who also had a fire, is that the vans are parked so close together.
At a meet people tend to be in or around their vans and would be up to move quickly quickly.

Came back to find this French van on the left.....Frenchman...are you lighting that BBQ ? Me...watch me.

Nice tights Mike, have a pair in the same colour.!!

Would they always be around the van though ,only needs one to go up and the wind in the right direction ,
this was Honfluer last year in sept .

Never again Mike its a disaster waiting to happen, If i could have driven straight out i would have , i came away a day early as it was .They had no control over who was coming in as tickets were not checked .I see this year they say they are splitting fields up ie motorhomes and caravans- tents and cars - disabled ,see whether they can control that :Flushed_Face_Emoji::Flushed_Face_Emoji:

at the moment we’re parked on the aire at manta rota lee/linda parked alongside its packed with 100vans in 4 rows side to side all about 5mtrs apart all in 10mtr bays some of the huge 8m + beasties are a bit close but in most cases a good 4mtrs distance don’t feel overcrowded it’s dirt cheap with a beach, small town bars restaurants loads of walking

rebbyvid - you must have been at Honfleur on a quiet day - what happened to the ones parked down the middle or those trying to avoid the puddles (sometimes lakes) on a rainy day ?
