How long should you leave the motorhome without moving it

I generally don't move mine until someone tells me I have to.

I can't believe you don't use it in the winter Barry...

Can I ask why, since you love going away in it at other times?

We do usually Graham. We have had some great Winter trips. Often we spend a month or so at Christmas at Flamborough but also we did Christmas and New Year in the Lakes once (2011 I think) when it was that really bad winter. Got snowed in for three days at Hawkshead, crashed the scooter on the Ice and spent New Years eve up the Honister Pass where it was -17c. We also did a week for Christmas on the Isle of Wight followed by a month in Devon and Cornwall where we got the van stuck several times in snow. I Think a letter I Wrote about that was in the CC magazine.

Im just not revved up about it this year, we cannot agree where to go and the van needs some work doing so it just looks like it wont happen. I think I Can probably count on one hand the number of Christmas and New Years we have spent at home in the past 25 years. I Dont do short trips either so odd weekends are not my thing.

If not using it I always drive it the first few days of the month. That I don’t forget when to do it. I leave it hooked up but also feel it should be driven at least every four weeks.

Since retiring and family stuff beginning to settle down a bit this is really the first winter we've been in a position to use the van much in winter, but with the Hobby being a big bugger we have to keep it in a yard a few miles away. No longer able to have a nip out for chippy tea on a whim but Still go up and run it for a while once a week and keep the handbrake off and wheel chocks under the back wheels.

Cheers

If your moving the van to rest on a different part of the tyres, do put a chalk mark at the bottom of the tyres before you move it to make sure it doesn't come to rest on the same spot.:Nerd_with_Glasses_E
