Insurance Scheme with Adrian Flux.

I’ve been with them for a dozen years when I was riding some radically tuned motorbikes, and even now their renewal on a stocker is still less than I can find elsewhere.
 
Got my renewal quote from comfort Insurance £820. With breakdown cover the lot. Called AIB quoted £940 same cover and insurer Aviva . Done an online quote using Go compare motorhome came back with Adrian Flux at £530 without breakdown cover the insurance company is Market study that’s a big saving can anyone recommend a realy good stand alone Breakdown cover looked at the RAC thing through ccc but it’s working out to expensive when you add everything.

Hi just had a quote for a new motorhome 698 pounds from you. I already have my old motorhome with you as of October 18. only to be tolled that I will not get a refund .when I cancel the old motorhome insurance. so for obvious reasons YOUR OUT!!!!!!!!!!. what a disgrace.
 
I ended up sticking with comfort as the cover from Adrian flux was not adequate and by the time you added on decent breakdown cover it was no cheaper .Anybody with an A class check very carefully as the cover they offered was with Market Study who only cover the windscreen up to £1000 so Remember to ask when getting a quote.
 
That sounds odd Ferenza. Perhaps I've misunderstood?

When I changed my van last year there was no need to cancel the policy, but a marginal increase to cover the balance of the year, which I paid.

the fact being you don't get a refund after you have been over 4months with them at all . still trying to find small print. Why was I not told when I took it out. underhanded to me.

Do read their policy with regard to fire extinguisher - if not brand new then no payout!

That's one of the 'gotchas' I noticed. Effectively, you need to buy a new extinguisher every year. Even though I used to do inspections for the MoD when I was in the mob, apparently I'm not 'competent' for their purposes and I either need to buy a new one or (at greater cost) pay someone to inspect and certify the one I have. There are other 'gotchas' that might or might not be an issue, so you really need to read every bit of the policy documentation.

In my case, my van is over 20 years old and Adrian Flux was the only company to offer breakdown cover -- but then only if the van was regularly serviced iaw manufacturer's recommendations.
 
You can buy P50 10 year self check extinguisher - 2kg foam is c£50 and a sensible size water mist due soon apparently.
I did find a local firm that would service 3 (van house garage) for less than cost of replacement if I let him choose date to fit in with other visits.
