Their is only one brand of new bi fuel cars available in UK Dacia .
 
Yes, through Renault dealers, we looked at them last year, not bad for the price, but they don't do a dual fuel auto, and the manual GB is awful we tried three different cars and all were the same.
 
just topped up at Brownhill's while we was on overnight £1.20 L but if you need it you need it . anyway we don't use the m/h much in rip off Britten so for us there's plenty of places in Europe to top up .cheyenne

Actually lpg is a similar price in France on average with diesel almost 10% more expensive there, so hardly rip off Britain.

A gas fridge uses very little gas Baz so its not worth thinking about swapping a working one out, (and that's someone who has and loves his compressor fridge). Similar with cooking, very low gas usage there. Heating is where gas usage jumps up but by how much depends what type of gas heating and how much you use it.

If anyone is that worried I would say look at getting a diesel heater. Always depends how you use your van and how long you like being off grid/stationary for electric cooking.

I watched a video on one of the ev channels I follow yesterday and they said Germany has dropped the full EV by such a date and is now going for some type of sustainable fuel in ICE vehicles. Didn't think that much of it when I heard it and haven't done any research to establish how true (or not) this is. Anyone else heard this?

Yes, Neil. There is a German 'fudge' to permit fossil fuel vehicles to be produced, using the new sustainable fuel. IIRC, the alternative would have been an ugly, and politically damaging EU split between the EV advocates and the traditionalists. The EU has a history of making these accommodations work, but the cost of producing the sustainable fuel and its limited quantities make the political/economic commentators nervous of declaring it as a win for either camp

Not heard that but Hydrogen as a ICE fuel has been there quite a while, but everyone jumped onto EV, I anticipate Musk going that way at some point, he's already stopped making right hand drive cars altogether despite many countries being RHD.

Infrastructure is the key, and that is the expensive and complicated bit.

i wasn't referring to the price of LPG as rip off Brittan i was referring to where in the UK can you stay for 30 nights WITH electric f & wifi for £257 in the UK on a campsite we can in Malaga parked next to to to med .cheyenne

Well, the Dacia website seems to have "bi-fuel" (LPG + Petrol) as an selectable option on various Duster and Sandero models!

They seem to think it is a good choice - https://www.dacia.co.uk/dacia-lpg.html - but I wonder if the sales person would really recommend a sale in the UK? It is a shame, but I think getting a new LPG car is buying a pig in a poke for sure.
 
The MPG figures are less than okay, as said we looked and the cars themselves are okay but the manual gearbox is awful, you would get used to it but, you shouldn't have to, we even tried a different dealer and it was the same, I contacted Dacia t enquire if I could order a dual fuel auto and they said they had no intention of making them.

So we bought the Used Fiesta which is a much nicer car and better on fuel too, but despite a 1.5 Diesel engine it doesn't like a steep hill, and will not hold top or fourth gear below 40/30 mph.

That's not the way to treat any modern diesel, especially that 1.5 Ford diesel with its numerous problems. :confused:
 
It's been fine for the three years we've had it just lacking torque I think.
 
UK LPG stations closing is one negative point when I chose my make of MH. AutoSleepers only come with underslung LPG tanks and nowhere to put a bottle if you wanted to. On the other hand in every town in Europe, where they welcome motorhomes, you can drive around town looking for the cheapest supply. I've just spoken with a friend who has just come via Belgium and he said it is something like 40cents a litre there.
