we had a merc sprinter brand-new back in 2004 when autotrail used them nice 5 cylinder job very throaty BUT bad sustention for m/h's as at speed they would rock & roll & driving on motorways was a bit scary .cheyenne

Time to Move An, Oh I think?
My initial reaction was to conclude that the number plate had an important message for ageing motorhomers, especially those in smaller Vans, that 69 is Not Very Good [or may not be in the best taste ...] Then I thought that that may not be the way the cookie crumbles, but it could be the way the Mercedes Benz [even if the knees and arms don't]. Then I thought about the Accountants and all smutty thoughts and puns evaporated, because these people don't need to use contraception; their personality is sufficient ... :ROFLMAO:

And I thought the inside of my head could do with a new cleaner.

But why would one van manufacturers dealer use another company's van?

Movano.

Multi-franschise dealer? But I agree, it gives the wrong "optics". You occasionally see similar things in Motor racing... Ferrari using Renault Trucks maybe. (And there was that season in F1 where "Sauber BMW" racing cars had the Ferrari engine fitted :) )

As an aside, Stratsones used to supply the company cars the company I worked for in mid-80's used. It was all British Leyland, so the management had the Rovers - SD1 and the original Rover 200 (Honda Ballade?); and the Workers had the Austins - Ambassadors, then Maestros and Montegos (I had an Ambassador and then a bunch of Montegos).
We reckon the reason they standardised on BL was so the Managing Director got a subsidised (maybe free?) Jaguar, changed evey year, as part of the deal.
Running the Ambassador was how I got to experience lots of different Ford Sierras as well (always got a Sierra hire car each time the Amassador broke down ;) ).

Had to look up the BL ambassador, thought that was the old indian car, looks a lot like the prices POS.

It was in essence an updated Princess with a Hatchback.
Had to look it up? I can't believe you don't remember the classic song from Jihn Shuttleworth! (My Ambassador was also a Y Reg, in Gold - great colour for a car ... totally hides the dirt :) )

As a car, it was supremely comfortable. I drove from Berkshire to Germany in it non stop (excluding Ferry obviously) and got out the car with not a single ache or pain.
As a car it was also supremely unreliable. in 13 months of 'ownership', it was off the road for 31 working days. I would get it back after one repair and something else would go wrong the next day (or even the same day).

Ambassadors drove like floating bedsteads, but minus the stability and reliability of the latter ...

I can’t read what’s in the sign very well, I get your main point BUT, I can’t see where it says it’s being used by Mercedes, I see a company that sells parts. Does it say it is a MB dealer or something in the bits I can’t make out?

I had work don’t on my van last year by a MB specialist garage that uses genuine MB parts but has absolutely nothing to do with MB.

The sign says "Stratstone Mercedes Benz" and Stratstones is a big chain of Dealerships, so you honestly would expect that van to be a Sprinter 100%

But ... I have just looked at the photo again and I am now 100% sure it is not genuine. The section over the rear window panels doesn't actually match the window recesses. I never noticed before (but in my defence I am now looking at it on a 26" Computer Monitor) but it is a very poor bit of photoshopping.

(if it isn't photoshopped, the company applying the vinyl need better training! I would not pay for that job)

I can’t really make out anything below Quality as Standard but I am on a small screen (who said blind???). Wondered why some of the comments lol. Bet Kev got it off Facebook :)

It's a genuine photo taken on my phone David.

I wouldn't know where to begin with photoshop tbh.
