Mini airfryer

You can do freshly made chips in an airfryer just fine as well, Neil.
Here is something I have just realised this past week or so ... Frozen chips loose loads of weight after cooking. A 400g lot of chips into the cooker come ok weighing around 275g! (never noticed this until started weighing food portions for the OH to log on her food app).

What works really well in an Air Fryer are the tinned New Potatoes. Make superb mini-roasties. I buy the cheapest "value" line ones I can find, so usually around 35p for a very good sized portion. Highly recommended and being tinned super easy to just keep tucked away in the cupboard
I know, and you know that you can do freshly made chips in an air fryer David but these lazy beggars just want it cos its quick to do frozen/oven rubbish rather than proper food :)

Seems air fryers are loosing popularity, so many bargains to be had now, we succomed to the trend about a year ago and bought one £99 rotisory and 3 shelves wife loves it but have since bought 3 more smaller ones single basket £5 each at the boot sales and all as new, gave one away and use one and one spare , so when things start turning up this cheap at the booties it means they are falling in popularity we think but we use ours a lot so quick and easy, not keen of chips in them though, prefer mine fried in oil but bone of contention with my wife so I just grin and bear it if given air fried ones hee hee, air fryers getting cheaper in all the shops too?
May be a case not of losing popularity but of people realising that the small single-basket ones are not adequate and upgrading to larger/twin-drawer air fryers.

Exactly what we found ....loved our actifry XL ...
Chips especially worked well with the stirry paddle ....

However ....our replacement oven type is so much more versatile
And has more usable space for cooking multiple items .
And two seperate cooking areas that can cook for different times/temps BUT can be set to finish at the same time is fantastic .

Love it to bits ...and haven't used the main inbuilt oven since we bought the new air fryer .

Baked tatoes
Pastries
Pies
Roast potatoes
Yorkshire puddings
Even omelettes etc etc ....

all fantastic

Not sure why "air fryers" are called that name? maybe as initially they were promoted as an alternative to deep fat fryers for Chips? but I see them basically as compact ovens with a much more powerful fan than a normal fan oven.
I use mine many times a week (in fact just a minute ago I started it to make the Sunday Dinner) but do find they can be overly aggressive with some foods and the heat too intense.
100% a great tool but not foolproof.

i bought my first air fryer about ten years ago the sort like a slow cooker with a paddle didn’t use it much but then bought the actifry which worked very well used it in the van then realised it was twice the size of the basket one at home & only cooked half the amount, two years ago for the van i bought the 1200w mini oven air fryer that has been a real game changer i practised with it at home and loved it so bought the larger one for home now the main oven in the house is only used at christmas etc

If you haven't already, check out these kind of liners you can get - https://amzn.to/4fday8N . Available in different sizes and shapes to suit different fryers.
Makes cleanup easier if you are cooking some 'wetter' foods (beef dripping covered chips would qualify!! )

I think I must be the only house cook who hasn't got or even want an air fryer.. 🙋🏻‍♂️😁
You should give one a try, after buying the Ambiano one from Aldi 7 years ago we wouldn't be without it
On the bathroom scales 😉
When we bought our air fryer I lost weight very quickly because any fat in the food drops in the bottom, I am 2 stone lighter now without going on a diet and sausages, burgers, steaks etc taste better than BBQ'd meat.
See what you made me do Jeffrey 🤬

Keep your receipt safe Terry, we bought one from Aldi and after 2 years 10 months the non stick coating started to come off, I wrote to the warranty department with photos and two weeks later I received a reply saying they couldn't repair it because that model was no longer in production and no spares were available, they refunded me the full price which was £29.99, I went back to the store and bought the new model for £19.99 and that is still good after 4 years. Aldi are great with their three year warranty 👍
It is only used occasionally now because I bought a Ninja 9 in 1 and then bought a Ninja twin basket model
