Oh dear! The joys of motorhoming, at least you have the technical ability/knowledge to try and sort it. Hope it all gets resolved quickly.
Hi,I have had a thought about this and it might well be a stuck EGR valve. It is the weak point with all the sprinters and can happen as low as 25000 miles. The MB Way is to replace the whole thing but the valve is easily cleaned with barb cleaner. It is difficult to get to on Aclass vans because of the front postal slot access but normal ones dead easy.
It lives beside and under the oil filler spout which is removed with a torn bolt then pulled up. The valve is a three bleed propellor like device over three holes. It gums up the dry car one and the body gets filled with soot and gum..it is opened by a little servo motor but snaps shut with spring force. Gumming stick it open so according to the usage will block . Athrashed hard motorway delivery van will last lot longer than a town one which can maybe block in 10000 miles.MB will replace but it is a service job to clean them for self maintenance firms .
If you still have problems after the filter clean then try this one. The service light might or might not come on. I have a service code reader to put them off .
Does that mean you are offering to be the cameraman Lee, Phil will struggle to film his feet and hands while under the vanAnother subject for a video.
I can't wait to see your feet sticking out from under the van.
Autodata possibly this does what you mention clik the more info and for a £10 a months trialI used to have software. Auto something and of course it was cracked as main dealers tools. That would give you the location of the parts if I can remember (or someone else can) the name.
Good luck
Unless I can’t see the post it isn’t sorted, Phil has identified the cause (he is fairly sure) but it ain’t fixed TIL it’s all done and purring again. Unfortunately it can sometimes be a bit of a pig between one and the otherNo Phil has all sorts of technology to sort out such things.
Anyway now he's sorted the fault he needs another challenge.

I am not questioning him, I have had a long time doing things to find out they don’t always (usually) go as smoothly as you expect unless it’s something you have already done. There is also the Law of Sod which says if a thing can go wrong it willHow can you question our illustrious leader.
I am hoping to fix it on Monday or Tuesday. Our Hymer was poorly, but the surgeon did his bit and the nurse did her bit and Hymer is well now!![]()

Can you come and fix my windscreen after you have done that. I am having fun and games with autoglass , they are telling me 5 . 10 days because they don't carry stock of the screen for my ducatto , and we don't want to miss Henley next week

Well, there is no point keeping glass for the Ducato, it is only the second most popular van in Europe, and that is without it's sisters Boxer and Relay.
Yes for a time I thought it was starline then remembered it was a b series FART and nota Sprinter, never mind someone might glean something about their MB in the futureHi,
It is definitely a DPF problem. My motorhome is a Ducato.
