New awning

i remember when wully was first talking about this that the length was an issue but the weight was the real problem in a DIY fix , one of those jobs that’s it’s worth paying out for so you can point the finger later lol, might still be worth going to sams for a reece ,

I agree !20230129_220059.jpg

How did it get to you ?
Ie which organisation delivered it ?
Contact them they might organise the safe transportation.
Or are there some towing trolleys ?
Or borrow a forestry logging truck ! 555
Basically 2 axles suitably linked !

I know Neil bit of a dilemma. I couldn’t get the thing anywhere they were the only ones who showed interest when the word was going bonkers. I’ve still got to work something our with them just weighing up the options but they have been helpful and genuinely want to help out. I spoke to them today and he ran me through how it’s fitted and offerd any assistance if I was gonna attempt to fit myself.

Sounds like a winter break session! 😂

I supervised (😂) two son in laws fitting mine, sounds a lot lighter than yours, mine is 4.5mtr. Was a real easy job to fit it and I was surprised how little attachment they actually need. Been on a couple of years or so now and scrapped a few trees and hedges with it but so far so good. Bet you and Scotia could do it but then again may be better if you sat back and got some others, seen you with cassettes lol

As long as you have a way to support the centre part during fitting, I can't imagine it would be any more complex than a short awning. Just more awkward.

My 4.5 m Fiamma awning has 3 mounting points.
When its fixings got damaged the garage used 6 stainless steel plates both inside and outside thus sandwiching the side wall of the vehicle.
Very well done. Maybe 4 needed for 6m long ?
I guess the Scottish welder could advise on their thickness but i suggest 15cm by 9cm for the other 2 dimensions.
The bolts are "nutted" on the inside.
I will send my skyhooks when I find them...
Probably behind the buckets of steam.

so far wully lee sam & i are booked in for a barn raising amish style in a few months time lol i think it ought to nbe at sam’s place for obvious reasons

between two christina’s one linda and one jan don’t think we will be short of instruction

Well that's the first I've heard of this but Sam's beer, Wullies whisky and Ken's red wine sounds good to me, I'll bring Linda, well we need someone to be in charge.😄
Sounds like a hangover.
