Have a look at the Efoldi power chair I have an Efoldi mobility scooter and it’s great I charge it in the van not sure what the chair ids like but worth a look.Actually not faulty at all, but no way to use it in the van.
It has no means of keeping it folded, it is well named as instant, you only have to touch it and it unfolds, I could put a strap around it but it would keep falling over so it is going back sadly.
So on we go, I did have a play around with it in the house for quite a while and I think a folding scooter is probably my best option I put an obstacle on the floor to drive over and it struggled to go over it in a straight line and veered off, as the joystick was too sensitive when it joggled me, not a good idea on any sort of rough ground I'd expect.
I have contacted them and they are happy for me to put it back in the box and they will arrange collection.
Efoldi all have tubed tyres and my scooter is flight friendly folds to the size of a large suitcase my Efoldi sits on the passenger seat and at 17kg I can lift it in and out on my own and it does 4 or 8 mph. Thanks, Annie, having had a chair and a scooter I think I prefer the scooters, much more stable and controllable, I don't need the support that a chair gives, the problem with scooters is the wheel size they all seem to have tiny solid wheels and are very low to the ground, if the van had a garage it'd help and I could go a bit bigger but it has to be light and it has to fold and get through the van door
Plenty of second hand ones about on eBay and the Efoldi Facebook page.I looked at the scooter and it is too expensive for me Annie, about three times what I want to pay and double what I'll probably have to pay.
WHAT!!! £918 for a walker????

I have a manual handcycle I got to take round on the van. I did for a while but not these days. While it worked fine it is just a bit too heavy/unwieldy to get on and off the bike rack on my own. That’s why I now carry an escooterGot one of those in the shed. Mother bought it when she was feeling flush. Nice big wheels. Shame to throw it in the skip when she died so kept it.
What you really need is a Recumbent Trike. I have one. Folds up and you can convert them to battery operated using one of the Chinese kits. Gives you a bit of excersise after all those pints.
You could always build something. You just need a skeleton frame https://www.facebook.com/reel/778915720453360/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
