Right guy I have a propex 2000 that won’t fire up it work ok on blowing cold air and the blower ok on the hot air but won’t fire up on the hot air side anybody had the same prob ?.

I had one eons ago

Was always troublesome whenever i needed it if failed

Whenever i tested it in the summer it worked

Mine had been installed with a very light weight pair of wires for the 12volt supply

Eventually replaced wires with a much more suitable pair of cables

So put my issue down to voltage drop in original supply cable

Sound like an ignition fault jeff ,? Do they have a glow plug? Not familiar just adding two bobs worth
Will try n find out from a guy that does the truck stuff n get back

I had the same problem on a previous van, it needed bleeding and it was fine after that.

I know it's a gas heater, but still needed bleeding to get it to work, I slackened off the union on the back of the propex till the gas came through, and then it worked.

I had one of these on a previous van and a duff battery caused the same, blower blew cold, not enough 12v to fire it up.

On ours, the air flow sensor (fan) kept getting stuck and giving us a 5-flash error. had to blow hard up the exhaust a few times to clear it. newer models have different air flow sensor (and old ones can be upgraded). Beyond that, fault free 10 year heavy use

(and old ones can be upgraded) Had the same issue with my old propex (2nd hand) and got in touch with Propex and the upgrade sorted the problem. Can't fault their customer care Campers!

I had same problem when I installed mine and whenever I change gas bottle. Need to bleed air out by turning it on and off a few times. May need as many as ten goes, but it fires eventually. Could be something else, but this is very common problem.

Me too had issues with my propex 1600 ( was an old one )
Again sent it to propex and they sorted it and worked for over three years no issues . guess it still does but sold van then
