Prostate Cancer

Had the 2nd op,Surgeon was great,he took away a small suspect part and flushed the area he'd done before.results in 2 weeks .Hoping to have chemoetherapy for 4 weeks soon then start on the prostate,🤞Coincidently my older brother is also having bladder cancer treatment, amongst other things,he's ahead of me,he had 6 chemo liquid treatments.

Just an update .My psa is down from 60 to 3.8,great news.No cancer detected in the bladder from 2nd op.I start my radiotherapy in january, booked a psa test prior to this in 2 weeks time. One side effect of the injections is the Hot flushes. They come on at the most inconvenient time .Our youngest daughters bought me a neck fan for this, anyone else tried them ?

Sorry, which injections do you mean?

I got Liz a neck fan off Temu a few years ago, she likes it, but finds it a bit NOISY.

I had a month of hormone tablets + one hormone injection and am wait for a letter from the hospital. I was told I'd get in January regarding my radiotherapy roll on January. My psa was only 6.53.

Yes the hormone jabs are brutal for some .
For others there ok my side effects are bad my joints are very bad and fatigue is never ending ,my body is changing I am growing boobs and lumps in then which are very painful 😒
Had 6 month jab yesterday and I feel awful which lasts about 2 days normally,

As a female who continues with the warming features you describe you can get neck fans. They were great this summer. Will find a pic for you if I can.
In addition I went to Pets at home and bought a large dog cooling mat. It was on offer at the time (£10) and has been great. Online cheapees no good. You can pay a lot of money for the sane sp it pays to shop around. At night if the heat attacks I put it on my pillow and it gets me back to sleep. It cools naturally so no need to put it in the fridge.

As mentioned the post, the way the jab is administered varies enormously. I went from not being able to stand to it not being a problem hardly at all, depending on who gave it to me, there is a right way to do it, and most don't know it, I had to educate the nurse practitioner at my docs before I'd let her touch me.
I lost a hell of a lot of muscle mass, and grew hair on me bonce, and my tits are great NOT.

I got the idea from our eldest daughter going through menopause. She has one or 2,keeps them charged for almost constant use.our youngest was here today, saw me looking online and ordered one from amazon. See how that goes 😁

I never felt my 1st injection my 2nd hurt a bit and I've got a lump showing under the skin, I know it'll dissolve over time so agree there's a right and a not so good way to administer the injection.
Another psa test booked for the 18th and a Ct scan booked new years eve.
How lucky we are to have our NHS.

The right way is to lightly pinch the skin, go in at 45°, slowly inject over about 2 minutes, relaxing & pinching every few seconds. You will always get a lump, but it should NOT hurt unless you press on it.

I was told when I had the first injection that I would be getting them ever 6 months for 3 years Kev but when I seen the consultant he said I wasn't getting any more and I never asked why at the time was told they would be in touch in January.

Not heard that one before, I had the option of 1 or 3 monthly jabs, I tried a mild dose of the 3 and it made me very ill, so I went onto monthly, the 3 month one is not good for some with heart issues

I started on 1 monthly, then 3 monthly, then the big one every 6 months ,and they restarted my 3 years off again once the 6 monthly jab started.
So I will been on hormone for 4.5 years, time I finish this course.
