Purposeless Products

How about a £1,000 'smart' phone. That seems pretty pointless to me.

Ray.

Agreed. For me this £300 smartphone does all that I need.
Hopefully we'll hear other views from those that desperately need £1000 phones.

Loads of stuff for those of us lucky enough to be left handed. It's amazing how many things are "handed". http://www.anythinglefthanded.co.uk

I like the stickers:biggrin:

Being the age i am, i've never bothered with stuff for left handers. Although I'm totally left handed for writing, I never can work out which way to hold a golf club for example. I learned the violin, but right handed, there wasn't any alternative. I knit left handed, but crochet right handed.

Awkward bugger, I knit and crochet left handed, tried teaching grand daughter how to crochet (she's right handed), surprising how hard it is to do it the 'wrong' way round lol. Left handed scissors are good.

Surely that's supposed to be a reusable product, yorklass? Do you clean and reuse or bin and start again. If they are cleaned you may as well clean the oven in the first place. If binned it's not effectively reusable. So a Purposeless Product either way. Or am I missing something as usual?

Colin ???

Its much easier to clean a non stick oven mat,- just soak in water for a couple of minutes than it is to clean the darned oven, a horrible job.

Or preferably don't put things in the oven that make a mess. In fact don't use the oven.

BTW, teejay, thanks for changing your avatar. The previous one made me feel even stranger than I actually am. Is the new one a partial view of an image cut into stone?

Colin ???

Does not using the oven make that a purposeless product?

I'm thinking it does have a purpose for the population at large. It's just that I rarely use my oven. It makes great jacket spuds, bread, cakes, roast dinners............exactly as it was designed to do. This thread drifted to the oven via oven liners - and some feel that they are definitely Purposeless Products.
Any ideas for Purposeless Products inside (or outside) the kitchen, yorkieowl?

I think a bit of ambidexterity (is that a word?) is more common for left handers than right handers. Perhaps because of pressure to conform to the right handed way of doing things?

That had me thinking, Charlie!
So you feel vegetarians are Purposeless Products?
As I've commented recently, you have a very 'unusual' and 'interesting' view of things.
Come on, then - justify it!

What? Where did that come from, raynipper? Are those add-ons on offer?

Colin ???

Yep, Colin. Definitely 'add-ons' or add-ins.
Just goes to prove all adds for the two months leading up to Christmas are "Get it for Chritsmas".......... bunkum.

And my £70 Samsung Chinese Copy does far more than I will ever need. It's too smart.

Ray.

Thankfully I've never been pressurised to conform, it's just my brain sometimes can't work out the best way to do something, the exception being the violin.

Thanks, Ray. What Chinese copy are you using? For how long? Is it reliable?

I imagine it must be very difficult learning any skill from someone of the opposite hand, yorkslass. This first occurred to me when watching Paul McCartney in my youth.

I was a vegetarian in my thirties.
I only ate vegetables.
I then decided to move one step up the food chain.
I now only eat vegetarian animals.

Colin ???

As you hint, Charlie, it's all a matter of viewpoint.
