Purposeless Products

I have had an assortment of egg poaching devices, from little pans to silicone cups, some have found their way into the van with the intention of poaching instead of frying ... I am incapable of poaching an egg straight into a pan of boiling water. The gadgets NEVER work, mess ensues, water enters, egg white sticks everywhere, and they go to the back of the cupboard. Back to the frying pan again.

That's an interesting one, milton. I used to love poached eggs as a kid but thinking about it, what's the difference between a poached egg and a boiled egg? One gets cooked in it's shell whilst the other gets cooked in, effectively, an artificial shell.
Surely all egg poachers are Purposeless Products on this basis - or am I missing something?

Have you thought about poaching them in their shells much easier and very little mess :Wink_Emoji:

do have a egg coddler on the unit it royal Worcester on but back to egg doddler it just a china shell to boil eggs in


was going to edit the spelling mistake but the post looked good a read well so left it

found a teabag suqeezer in the van this morning they got insulated handles on them usefullfor gripping stuff think they called pliers

sausage pricker
cake tester
meat tester
roast potatoes checker
for making kebabs
for testing beef stick in the beef leave for 10 secs pull out and touch your lips with it
if it’s cold beef not cooked
if it’s warm beef very rare
if it’s hot beef perfect
if it sticks to lip beef ruined and lips blistered??

Wow, that's quite something, Annie! The tea strainer because you've moved on to tea bags, presumably? The orange juicer is the orange coloured thing that is pushed into an orange prior to squeezing? Everything else seems to me to be fairly obvious EXCEPT the instrument of torture with a black handle and white protuberance (!).
You've inspired me to do something similar in my kitchen.
Is anyone out there brave enough to do something similar with their toolbox, garage or garden shed?

I can easily match that Annie. There's two or three hundred classic camp stoves and lamps for a start!
I think that we should leave that challenge until the summer.

It’s the big white thing with the L plates on the back you can’t see it properly as it has a big caravan cover over it to keep the dust off.
