RAINEX———DOES WHAT THE CAN SAYS

Costco do a great deal on a double pack of rainex. I tried a different make a while back and it smeared like hell. Autoglim fast glass is a great product to clean glass
That’s where I get mine.

Been using rainX for about 30 years after a mate that ran coaches gave me some .
Unlike most things it actually works
Gets my vote and that doesn’t happen easily (y)
Well I wasn’t going to bother, had just been reading this for interest but after that recommendation I will have to get some and give it a go. It’s rare indeed for Charles to say something is good :)

Okay Charlie tells me that I linked is the wrong one, while telling Caz she said she has been handing a bottle to me for a couple of years and I keep ignoring her opps!!!

She has brought the bottle from the shed to prove it as well, seems she used to use it on her car but I wouldn't. So I will give it a go when we get back in the van tomorrow :)

Ooh Charlie, you saved us a space :)

..... forgot to mention that I use it on the house windows as well.

Does it only work on glass? Would it work on the front to stop bugs sticking?
I think Gordon even uses it on his teeth , the bot5le I have next to me says:

Do not use on plastics, painted, treated or coated surfaces.

Doesn’t list ingredients so maybe try it on a patch that isn’t seen and see if it discolours?

Thanks Charlie. Presumably you only use one of these at a time? The reviews are certainly very good.

We had a massive van cleaning exterior session today. Used Fennwicks Bobby dazzler on the outside as it supposed to help repel dirt and I have bought some a month ago. I have also put Rain x on all the windows and wing mirrors… Just decided to go for it.

Now knackered but pleased with the result.

Yes I use the 476 but some prefer the 845 as it’s supposed to be easier to use ,
I used to use Bobby dazzler but no where near as good as a proper wax .
Just waxed the alloys again today.
Try either you won’t be disappointed.
Clay it and polish first for best results.

You are a masochist Charlie :)

Well I got Rainx applied to windscreen, all except the toilet window (designer opaque?) and the mirrors. Now need to wait for the next monsoon and see what happens :)

Know we are stationery but I had expected more beading than this, compared to Charle’s pix. Perhaps I should have put more on or a build up of layers?E5748D25-E5AB-43D8-B528-88EEE93954C9.jpeg

Did you clean and polish glass really well before application ?
Which rainX did you use was it the repellent or the 2 in 1 cleaner in a spray ?
Hi Charlie.
Well I reckon I cleaned the windows pretty well. But perhaps I am not enough of a perfectionist and I was pretty tired by the time I got to the windows.
And it was the bottle. What is good to see is that the heavy rain we’ve had since had not left the droplet marks. Same on the van body- the bobby dazzler is definitely a step up from just a clean.

In my opinion there is one better than Rainex, it is called Rain Racer. Applied correctly it lasts ages, and works very well.

They also provide a cleaning agent and a sponge (like a washing up one with a coarser side) to properly clean the glass first.
It is used by the Civil Aviation for aircraft windows.
