Shurflo pump running on

I've spent a bit of time on the website but not really got the info I need all they give is the overall dimensions of the space they take up which is very similar.

Doesn't anywhere in the UK sell parts, the motor side seems fine so maybe a new pump head might be the best solution.

Shurflo 2901-0212 water pump 5a fuse, 4a, 20 PSI, 7 lpm

Thank you

If I just needed the housing.

But if I need the rest as I suspect, I may as well buy a pump.

Why do you suspect the housing? I would have thought more likely to be the seal (I think that I've already referred to that in one of your threads about the pump) or the valves, or as you suggest, diaphragm and drive.

I dont, I was saying if I just needed the housing itd be a cheap fix but the housing is i assume ok, and it's the other part which is good, not helped by someone leaving the pump switched on since yesterday afternoon.

If I could br sure it's just the diaphragm I'd by that, but I'm not, it could be a few different issues combined so I am inclined to just replace it with the cheapest Shurflo 20 psi 7Lpm I can find.

update, I finally fitted the new pump, filled up and primed all the taps hot and cold so I assume the boiler is full too and all seems to be well, it switches off now after a second or so.

it's given me chance to look at the pump properly now it's off and I can plainly see the problem, the rest is fine, I'm loath to bin it so does anyone need a pump that needs a new head?20240818_091929.jpg20240818_092023.jpg

Kev, you say "all seems to be well". Are you referring to the faint whirring that you talked about at the start of this thread?

Yes Merlin, it was the pump motor running on as it had an air leak through the cross threaded bit in the pic above, that is the output side so it was trying to pump air and water, I fitted a new pump.

Quite why it was cross threaded is anyone's guess as they are normally a fit and forget part.

easy to cross-thread if someone is fitting, finds hard-going (due to not putting on nut right) and using a spanner to force it on.

My pump that I swapped out would not prime by itself but once air out the system worked perfectly after that. put the two together and could get a perfect pump :)

If it's not me wires that are crossed, it's me nuts that are cross threaded ... Can be quite painful, and there's no known cure, apparently ... :ROFLMAO:. Of course, pilots have wing nuts that Boeing have pre-cross threaded for efficiency. They can drop off the passengers and the body panels at the same time ... (y)

I have had this problem some time ago, but my fault was a small leak on the bottom of the pump flange.
Did not notice this as the small amount of water was running along a water pipe and into a storage locker.
Again only happened at night , no taps running. Check for leaks

All sorted Ted, new pump and back to normal.

I'm considering putting in on ebay for spares, someone might have a duff motor.
