Snowbirds 2025

we’re in the same boat looked at scooting across to med coast in spain but it’s the same there severe weather warnings next week , can see us hunkering down here at silves for another week at €56 for the week not a problem. been doing this in varying forms for 15 years never known weather like it sun most days but showers also and can’t complain at 17/18 deg
We took the plunge as the forecast was dire and we’ve returned to Spain we’re going up and if it’s no better we’re going home as it’s forecasted this for over 2 weeks 🤞 it changes if not we’re off home earlier X

to be honest the weather here has been much much better than forecast it was supposed to rain by lunchtime nbut we’ve sat out sunbathing all day my outside sensor still showing. 20+ at 5:30 just hope the rest of the forecast is as wrong lol

Remember it's carnival weekend. Shops may be closed. Spain really goes to town and is worth watching
Portugal has smaller, local celebrations but not always on pancake Tuesday.

Loulé puts on a huge bash, on national TV, but you may have trouble parking
Sao Brâs had their's, today, because of the lousy weather forecast.
Cold, grey and windy. But a lot of p155ed folk wandering around.

Loved it for years. Even before it was a proper aire.
We were the ones who put it on the W.C. P.O.I.s
Just in the right place.

Viewing BBC News and weather forecast this morning, forecast for Spain and Portugal is to be bad next week, of course this can change?

Look to high ground folks, clips showing Malaga area did not look good at all.

Stay safe 👍

We are doing well with the weather at Silves, sat outside all afternoon yesterday until 20.00pm, we have had a couple of showers overnight but the cloud is breaking up again this morning, so hopefully another afternoon in the sunshine ☀️😎🌞

A quick question gents, does the Spanish Euro adapter to refill GPL, does same adapter cover Portugal too?

Bit behind with posting this 🤷🏼‍♀️
2 nights at Parque do Rio motorhome site at Silves, Portugal ..... good to meet up with a few of you on our way through 💚

We enjoyed the old town with its quirky houses and narrow cobbled streets plus the impressive Castelo and Catedral. Also enjoyed the city's park along the river (see Smuj trying to copy the yoga position) 😱... peaceful place to saunter, plus an ideal Smuj walking area next to the site 🤪.

The weather turned showery .... time to chase the sun 🤣

Now at Praia Vasco da Gama at Sines for our third night ... parked up on the road beside the beautiful beach. Dave and Debs moved onwards today while we stayed and prayed for sun! 🤣

We loved this place on sight. Two days of beautiful beach and sunshine. Day 3 started overcast and cooler, but the afternoon was good .... we even managed a swim (photos inappropriate) 🫣 😱.

Day 1 - 6 mins walk uphill to Bom Remedio bar. Short walk into town to an explosion of lights, music, and revellers ... whoopee, it's carnival week !!

Day 2 - lovely evening meal alfresco at Bom Remedio bar (can highly recommend).

Love to all .... happy travelling (from our green home on wheels) 💚

Anyone in the Valencia- Murcia area? We’re heading that way from France in a week or so. Wondering whether the recent rains have caused much disruption?

We've moved up the road from Simancas to Palencia, a much nicer Aire with huge hard surface pitches in the Council HQ Car Park (no point sending photos to Highland Council though ...). 23 marked pitches that would easily accommodate M/home and awning, so no danger of the van next door dunking their biscuits in your tea ... :ROFLMAO: . Unfortunately, we've brought the rain with us, but we do have a change of scenery and a fresh supply of chocolate biscuits ...

Steve
