Yeh yeh..
One cold Thursday night.in the late 60s me and my Dolly bird were having a rare night off .
We went into Leeds Town centre.
We passed the Odeon cinema.
It was lit up, with a sign..
" TONIGHT ONLY.! GEORGIE FAME & THE COUNT BASIE ORCHESTRA. "
We just had to go in. Even though we planned a meal and a tour of the usual venues.
My Dolly bird tells me the Odeon seated 2200 bums, at the concerts she sang there.
When the curtains opened...
There were more people in the stage, than in the audience.
Yeh.yeh.
Try this:
Great lyrics, for motorhomers.

Paul, you tube gives me this message This playlist type is unviewable.

Oh yes--Mmmm bass runs - I'm glad I only play the fiddle and the mandolin family. Mandolin ? too many strings and I gave my fiddle away, it was a misguided birthday present from an aged relative

Yes, it takes you to an interesting comparison between that and the Oasis song ..I'm free.
Innes won a plagiarism case and made a vast fortune in royalties .
I've edited the link ..
Should work now.

How apt, but just before bed I'll give you a bit of culture

Was that before or after Whitelocks 🤔
In those days it would have been Jacomellis.
Posh clothes from Horne Bros, Her in her finery. £ 13 a month for the flat and 3 wages coming in.

Then a Turkish restaurant The Blue Lagoon.
He used to close at midnight . He had a flat above
If we were coming back from a distant gig, and the lights were off, even at 2 am, 3 peeps on the van horn would bring the lights on.

He had a stock of Mousskas in the oven , ready.
Once one van was in, other groups would turn up. I've often got home at 5, and been on the bus to work at 7.15.
No wonder my growth was stunted.

Whitelocks was a family tradition we still ate there when last in Leeds., Last February.
I hope it survives until we dare to return.

It was a present from my gran to my mum who hated it, she was it to Tommy Steele, but it still has the shop label and price sticker on it.
Probably !!! How many lyrics have we misheard over the years.
