Liz mentioned last time we were away that the bathroom floor was quite wet, I assumed weongly that she'd just not had the tap over the wash basin properly, but I think it coming from the waste pipe.

Has anyone had to mess with there's before I dive in and break something made of unobtainium.

All the bottom parts are avalable, many caravan breakers will have them, iv just stripped one out last week, they harden and become brital.

Not much chance of me stripping one out Trev.

If the vacuum breaker in the toilet flush goes faulty, this can pool water on the bathroom floor.

Probably but, we don't use the loo, I only found out when purging the tap of air and as mentioned its the bowl plumbing that is leaking not the tap.

hi . just follow the waste pipe from the basin to the floor & have you got a trap installed check that as well . cheyenne

I decided to investigate this job while on level ground

As we have a shurflo pump i was certain it was a pressure tap, but on taking the cover off the tap has wires, so it's a switched tap, further looking and the wires are not connected to anything, as I can see the ends, so back to pressure tap, but it only leaks when the tap is opened, so we just didn't use it this trip.

But on taking a pic of the bottom of the tap it has 4 pipes one chrome one which is a pull out doubling up as a tap and a shower 🚿 it has two blue pipes and one red pipe as in the crap picture.

Not something I have seen before and not sure how to proceed.

hi. its sounds to me that someone has upgraded the water pump system to a presure pump rather than a working from the old (micro switch tap system ) . what model & year is your camper ? as i have only ever had a system like that in caravans we have owned & a photo of the top of the tap to give some idea . we always would find what we was looking for from these . cheyenne

We're going home today so I'll have time to rip out what I think is just one panel it will I hope be obvious what is wrong but that is a weird tap with four tails

Why two blue pipes could one be a feed to the loo,

hi. we have had 7 m/h's & not seen anything like that . cheyenne
I'm going to look for a replacement before I dive into it.

not sure of tap makers other than whale from 2007

We've had almost twice that and ditto :D :D

Anyhoo, 3 Weetabix to give me an oomph on the job (behave) it's been opened up at least three times prior to me doing it so it looks like it may be an ongoing problem, 3 types of sealant where I don't think it should have any as it is a clip in and screw back arrangement for the support tower. So a bit of remedial work to make the whole wall on that side look decent again as it already has torn paper in parts where previous removal has caused damage, I'm thinking a match pot from B&Q of white vinyl silk will make it almost invisible hopingly.

It looked like it had four pipes but two of them are feed and the other is one pipe to the retractable shower head, it goes down from the tap part and then back up to the head, so a simple type hopefully, but I can't see a maker name to order a new set of tail seals as it looks like one of the tails has pulled out, push-fit is a seriously stupid idea for something that bounces down the road IMHO.

Not sure how to proceed so any ideas are welcome, took me 3 hours to get in this far, it's a ten-minute job but being on a hill and things wanting to close on me made it really awkward even with props which of course were in the way and me being as bendy as a stick of rock doesn't help.

hi pudsey bear. sorry looking at the photo i will be no help to you its beyond me good luck . cheyenne
Worry not, but in the first pic, the right-hand blue pipe looks to me to have pulled out of the tap base, it's also lower down giving the same indication to me. I'm off to have a better look shortly, I'll give it a tug and see if it comes right out or not, and also see if it pushes back in, I think it's just bad design and bad materials, plastic is never a good idea for taps, if it was they wouldn't make them out of brass.

I had a better look and managed to undo the two push in feed pipes and brought it all up into the conservatory where I could sit and examine it and it is a crap design for a shower system a separate head and tap would have been easier to fit, possibly cheaper, and less likely to go wrong, as I guessed it was the pull-out bit that was the problem, we don't use the shower so it was pre-existing, also the hot feed pipe where it pushes into the tap base had silicone around it so that also was a leak, so new seals and it should be a job done once refitted.

See first picture below, this is still in the van so difficult to picture but you can see the h/c feed pipes with the chrome shower pipe behind, but you can also see a chrome pin going left to right moreso in the hole where the other pipe is missing, (and the existing sealant around the red feed pipe) this holds all three pipes in place unless you tug too hard on the retractable shower pipe. I'd never have been able to undo that nut in situ so it had to come out as the pipes were too short to getter proper access.

In pic 2, you can clear see (upside down) one pipe fully in and held in with the pin, one pipe only partially in and not held in and the empty hole for the third pipe.

I'm hoping I can identify the tap and get the correct seals or if not the local plumbers place will have ones to fit, I've removed one and popped it in a cup of boiling water to relax it to its original size hopefully.
