I've had it for a while, but it has gone haywire since we went to France.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for meals. I have looked online, but they all seem unappetizing, so unlikely to work for me.

Any suggestions welcome.

i’ve had it 23 years once you get stabilized you can usually eat & drink normally , took a long while to get statins etc all balanced eventually once i was given slow release metformin that really helped , although my medication has been unchanged for about 20years they recently prescribed blood thinners because i’m 75 they sent my figures haywire for a week or so but all settled down now

Carnivorous diet and few carbohydrates, a lot of research on this subject with large trials.
Worthy of anyone's time to research for themselves

That isn't actually very helpful, if you do a search, you get so many different opinions, Diabetics UK for instance, disagrees with the NHS.

But that isn't what I was looking for anyway, the net suggests all kinds of meals for type 2ers, but I was hoping to get more genuine meals rather than a list of ingredients.

Last night Liz made a dessert out of crème fraiche and allowed fruit, it was lovely, but due to my prostate, I got up FIVE times for a pee.

Tw@

the weight is dropping off me anyway, mostly muscle mass due to the hormone therapy.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid, or I might do just that.

Off for a keto bloodtest tomorrow.

Just checked and my sugar is in the normal range (glad some of me is) 7.1 mmol/mol (was 87 mmol/mol) 20/6/25 so dropping carbs has done wonders

Have a look at the Keto diet.Worked for me.
Surely if you put yourself on a high fat diet, you're going to gain weight and get fatter.

Jenny is type 2.
We both went on a course, 15 years ago, to look at the low carb diet and how to live with it.
She normally has a protein rich breakfast, with minimal carbs.
Lunch is no protein, minimal carbs.
A mid- afternoon snack of rice cake, philly and chopped herbs, maintains balance.
When she's stable, we can now take some liberties.
So if constipated, ( Metformin), we can swap to a Weetabix, prunes, Greek Yogurt and fruit breakfast for a short while, cutting back on carbs , throughout the day. Then back to normal when the blood tests improve.
The local Medics say she has pretty good control on Hb1ac.
Hope this is helpful.

Start each meal with salad (eat salad before eating anything else*) and try to avoid bread as much as possible.

*And, no, I have no idea why it helps, but wearing a CGM for a couple of months told me that it does - for me.

Best of luck Jeff. I assume a biopsy first, interesting procedure, nowt to bother about usually.
