Just got back from the Keto, blood test, very happy, 0.02 glucose 8.4. need to try harder.

Weetabix awaits.
 
Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 4 years ago at one stage I was over 19 stone and really bad was finding it really hard to control and I got flare ups every 5 or six weeks my numbers were through the roof. I like a drink especially beer and my diet was terrible. Spoke to Doctor and he sanctioned that I could buy the new drug monjaro. Absolutely life changing I’ve totally reversed the diabetes lost nearly 5 stone and feel ten years younger.Im now getting it on prescription from doctors. Speak to your doctor you can get it on prescription now. I’ve had no side effects this drug was designed for diabetes the weight loss is a bonus.
 
Liz is on it and is struggling. I went on it a few years ago and it didn't suit me when they upped the dose, so for now I'm carrying on with the low-carb job, my numbers are low, and I am losing weight.

It is a PITA, though bread and potatoes are hard to find alternatives for.
 
Just asking.
Do those on a low carb. diet have problems with constipation?
If so, what advice an you offer to fellow sufferers ?
 
Been on it 2.5 weeks and not had any trouble in that department, but just buy some Senna, that's clear you out.

If on insulin, the advice is :

Protein breakfast. Minimal starch.
Eggs and cheese can cause problems


Very light snack, mid morning.

Salads, nuts and small portion of fruit for lunch.

Very light snack ,4pm ish.

Sensible evening meal, protein, starch, dairy, avoid oversweet puddings. Fresh fruit is better.

1square of 85% dark choclolate, shouldn't cause problems.

I've now got to find some senna, here in Portugal.
And running shoes, perhaps.
 
I am fortunately only type 2.

Just did my glucose, I know it says AM, but I can't be arsed readin gthe meter instructions to put it right.
