No David, I put my van registration in there, then hats a Sprinter on 15" rims lol
Well I fancy the 19" ones I think, just to to see when KwikFit can fit themSo you never said ... which one did you decide to buy for your van? the 18" or 19"? Any problems keeping them inflated on the 15" wheels?

I would not fit car tyres to a motorhome. Even if they are safe (I doubt it) the insurance company would use them as an excuse to avoid paying out.Linky

Looks like they will deliver, then you have to find a fitter and pay for disposal, might not be much cheaper after that.
Camper tyres are inferior and are designed for moronic drivers who overload and kerb their tyres.Yeh, I'd have expected that the tires would only need to be 'rated' correctly and the stipulation of tires needing a specific 'Camper' rating would only be applicable IF it was written into their policy Ts&C's. ??? Jeff's post does make me concerned though. I personally use van tires with a suitable rating, NOT specifically 'camper' grade.....I think I'll email my insurer and get their take on it, interesting for sure.
Please explain/describe a "Moronic Driver" please?Camper tyres are inferior and are designed for moronic drivers who overload and kerb their tyres.
Buy commercial tyres.
Ones who overload and kerb their tyres. It was in the same sentence. I'm surprised you overlooked it.Please explain/describe a "Moronic Driver" please?
I didn't. I doubt there are many individuals on our roads who have not accidentally kerb a tyre, me included. Tyres are made to a standard, MH tyres have added strength to their sidewalls due to added weight to the original base vehicle, and the MH can also stand stationary for long periods of time. As for overloading, I cannot speak for others who may do this.Ones who overload and kerb their tyres. It was in the same sentence. I'm surprised you overlooked it.

I wouldn't, I have run 3.5t + vans since the 80's so I'm well aware of the difference.I would not fit car tyres to a motorhome. Even if they are safe (I doubt it) the insurance company would use them as an excuse to avoid paying out.
You have a good day.Of course people sometimes kerb tyres. Moronic drivers do it all the time.
Camper tyres are not stronger. They have the same load ratings. Thee thicker sidewalls are a disadvantage because of their reduced ability to dissipate heat.
If you want tyres to last longer or cope with bening parked for long periods, you do it by changing the mix in the 'rubber'. That has downsides to other aspects of performance, so they don't do it for camper tyres.
I repeat, in my opinion camper tyres are inferior and designed for a particular sort of clueless customer.
If you have been persuaded otherwise, that's fine, but don't take a statement of fact as a personal affront.
So many people think that they are defined by their possessions and purchasing choices. It's a sad indictment of ,'consumer society'.
