Visiting London

Well the Mrs wants to visit London, we have a coach built motorhome on a 2018 registered Fiat Ducato chassis, it's the 2.3 diesel 150HP engine. It has a revenue rate of 4050kg. I presumed it was Euro 6, although we don't add adblue to it, like we do with our car.

So I entered the registration number on the TFL sight and it says I would after pay £12.50 per day ULEZ charge, unfortunately the touring site I want to stay at in in a ULEZ zone.
I visited the page were it tells you about standards required to avoid the charges and it states your engine if diesel should be of Euro 6 standard, well mine is.

As anyone else come across this problem and how did you get round it, I'm dammed if I want to pay £12.50, that would hopefully buy me two pints of cold beer in a traditional London pub, whilst she goes shopping, know which I would prefer to spend my money on. Screenshot_20190906-051944.png

One thing to bear in mind... The charge is only payable when using the vehicle, so if you were staying say 5 days, you would only have a fee on the day of arrival and day of departure (if you were static in-between)

Thanks for that info, but I just don't understand why I would have to pay it all, on a 2018 registered euro 6 engine.

It might be because you are over 3.5t? there is often caveats (my old T4 was subject to LEZ as van, but not when it became a "Motor Caravan" but that was only the case because it was under 2.5t GVW (2.5t, not 3.5t in this case).

Are you Euro 6 or Euro VI? maybe you need to be Euro VI as a specialist Heavy Vehicle?

Random rules!

I would query it with the LEZ authority. Our van is the same base as yours, Ducato, reg Oct 2018 with Euro 6 diesel over 3.5 tonnes and we are exempt.
Ours is French registered so had to send the vehicle reg details first before I got the exemption. We applied towards the end of last year
Unless you are trying to register for the ULEZ you should be ok, (unless they have now changed the guidelines).

Edit. Just looked at your attachments. Is your reg number original or a private plate? If a private plate, they may be looking at the original registration date for that plate.

Just reread your post, is the site really in the ULEZ? There are at least two campsites ( Abbey Wood and Crystal Palace) in the LEZ that might be more convenient

Didn't know there was a touring site within the current ULEZ zone, whereabouts is it?
May be worth putting VIN in a decoder, may have been registered in 2018 but when was chassis built. Ducato is one of the few vans that meet Euro 6 without needing adblue.
Euro6 / Euro VI is a right can of worms.

Thanks it's a private plate I took off my Jaguar which was definitely Euro 6 compliant, when I entered the Registration Number on the TFL web site it came up with what the present vehicle which is the Mobilvetta motorhome.

It's either Abbey wood or Crystal palace site we were going to stay at, going to have to check again as the post above yours say they are in the LEZ zone not ULEZ.

Cheers they are the sites we were looking at, I may have made a mistake, but even still I need to contact TFL to find out why my euro 6 engine doesn't meet there standards, which is in conflict of what there website states.

I have sent TFL an enquiry with photos of my V5, see what they come back with be good to know especially as they intend to extend the LEZ and ULEZ zones.

Chertsey motorhome & caravan club site is another nice one outside zone.

I know you said the vehicle details appeared right when you did the check with the number plate, but I have found the TfL database can be very slow to catch up with all details after any changes so maybe that is still in a state of flux at the moment? I am sure they will correct it when asked as they do seem responsive to requests.

Stroud Farm Campsite (CAMC)
Holyport Maidenhead £6 just water and sewage and a field
Bus to Maidenhead 10 mins (£4 or so)
Train to Paddington 30 to 50 mins
Or bus to Windsor and 1 hour to Waterloo
Dot2Dot taxi £6 to Maidenhead

Hi interesting. I have a 2006 Ducati 2.8jtd autotrail Cheyenne se660. 3500. When I type in my reg no. GX06CGU. On the ulez. Lez site. It says my vehicle does not have to pay I would of thought I should have to pay. Do not want to enter zones and get a non payment fine is there any other way to confirm ,,,,,,, also our 2011freelander 2 is ulez chargeable but not lez. Would of thought the 2006 2.8 would of been worse then the freelander

I entered my details, obtained a dated screen dump, and stored it with my vans details.

I'll check again at odd times to ensure ongoing compliance, and store those too.
