When you said you said you had an "early start tomorrow as we head south for the tunnel..." you really meant it.

We crossed the Dartford and dog legged left to avoid the 2 hour delay M25 J5-6 caused by a lorry fire.

It's dry and bright in East Sussex, unpacking almost done, grass to cut, and then a glass of red whilst Yvonne gets back into the cooking lark. I think that means there's a meal of something defrosted coming on.

Yes we managed to avoid the delay as well so all good. Some disruption on the tunnel crossing but only a 30 minute delay, now tucked up under the ramparts at Laon. Sunny journey south but some lightening as we approached Laon, seems to have moved on.

Partly cloudy this morning, but a warm 22 degrees with a light easterly breeze. In the afternoon, any remaining showers will clear with plenty of sunshine for the rest of the day.

Its a muggy 25° in the Rhone valley and clouds are building so maybe a thundery shower or two before morning.

Radar shows Western France, north Spain & Portugal due to get some rain.

Mind you, they might be fibbing.
Hope so.

It's as black as a colliers boot above, but nothing forecast .
It's a fresher place, here, and all the cars are free of the Sahara dust. .

That's true Paul, pleasantly surprised by our lunchtime stop ........ 3 courses and a glass of vino for 18€, starter being a help (stuff) yourself buffet as well. Anyway to stay on thread, dramatic drop in temperature tomorrow, a high of 16° just north of Lyon, but 24° just south of Avignon, crazy weather everywhere. Guess which way we are heading .
