Weather Report..................

Another superb day in the borders, dry, bright, a light breeze and 18 degrees. ⛅☀️☀️

Just another little hill in the Cheviots, only it's not to me. It's where I ran and played as a youngster, and where a skirmish was fought over 600 years earlier.

The van incorrectly says it's 27 degrees, but that's because it's been shut up most of the morning.

It's more like 21 degrees, wall to wall blue skies, and the lightest southerly breeze. What a lovely day in the borders. ☀️☀️☀️

We haven't walked the ramparts since the boys were young, where I remember photographing them against the Russian cannon.

It's gorgeous up on Ras Hill, beside the ancient fort. 22 degrees and a stiff breeze. ☀️☀️☀️

It was the favourite 'Marilyn' of Sir Edward Grey, previously a Prime Minister and the world's longest serving Foreign Secretary. I haven't been on top for well over 50 years, and it's a privilege to still be fit enough to return. An uncle rests inside the stone wall near the Trig Pillar. 😂

A lower 16 degrees and dry, with pleasant sunny spells. The variable cloud will linger along the coastline of Northumberland. 🌥️⛅⛅

We head south again. ☹️

Yesterday afternoon, we baked.
In spite of the forecast.
Today's forecast is the same.
20 degrees cloudy.
Will the sun break through again?
And we're all caught out wearing the wrong clothes ?
Prickly heat in the ballroom is not nice.
