It’s dark here too but with a lovely sound of the waves, I’m going to buy a rod and learn to fish what simple to use rod do I need ?

A 9 or 10 ft spinning rod like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leeda-Sa...re-Rod-Shakespeare-Beta-Reel-9ft/120888835655 will do most things without being too bulky to carry. Don't buy any lures/spinners etc, I'll let you have some.

Yes that will do for mackerel, bass etc and it's not too heavy. You could also use it at beaches like druridge for flatties. The reel is only basic, but you can always upgrade that later if you want to. I'll put some better line on when you come back next month and kit you out with some bits n bobs.

Can’t wait I was sat here last night just watching them pulling them in again one guy had 11 then stopped as he said it was too easy stripped man was back and even he caught 2 in the other guys pitch lol

That's why I like fishing with a single lure instead of a string of feathers, they are great sport on a spinning rod and you only take what you can eat.

I'm sure it will be better without the moss, it's horrible stuff. What I struggle to understand is that weeds flourish, but not the flowers or plants that you want to grow.

No, Sue.
Moss is generally green.
Moss doesn't require mowing.
Moss suppresses weeds.
Moss is a much under-rated garden adornment.
Moss probably tastes great.
What's not to like?
This morning I'll be re-spreading 3 tonnes of brown moss over 5 acres.
