Weather Report..................

Back in Portugal..
Half a stone heavier and 7 degrees cooler than when we left.
6 degrees at dawn .
Now it's struggled up to a bright 12 degrees, sheltered from the Northerly wind..
Rain forecast, tomorrow..
That'll be welcome and might raise the temperatures, somewhat..
Hang onto your hats, and sense of humour, when Brendan arrives..
He was a saint, so he might not be too bad.

Looks like we're getting the tail end of Brendan.
We awoke to a power cut, having had the heating on low overnight.
Luckily it was after the boiler had warmed up.
Probably caused by a voltage drop when the locals got up.
Ok now.
It's only 10 degrees max, light drizzle for the next 48 hours, increasing northerly winds and even 0 degrees forecast for Thursday night.
We've got hot water bottles, thermals ,honey, lemon and brandy, on standby.
 
The bad forecast hasn't fully arrived..
The Wind turned southerly.
It's a grey, cool misty afternoon.
We're ready if the wind swings back again and wouldn't object to a little rain.
It's been dry since Xmas, the ground is too hard for gardening and the cisterns are 75℅ full.
 
I slipped out on the bike earlier this morning as discreetly as I could manage. The Weather Gods eventually noticed what I'd done and sprinkled me with rain as a warning.
They must have been otherwise engaged, perhaps with Breeze Brendan, because the rain didn't last long and I got home having pretty much dried off.
Then, within 5 minutes of me getting the Brompton into the garage, the heavens opened and the wind strengthened.
My luck can't possibly hold.

Now in Hertfordshire the wind is gusting and it's raining. Breeze Brendan must be imminent.

Just been talking to an old mate, living in the highest and most exposed part of Leeds.
I asked him how he survived Storm Brendan
" It gor a bit draughty and damp, but summat and nowt, really ".
Still 8 degrees, since sundown, calm and heavy dew. Could be worse.
