Weather Report..................

The weather was beautiful with blue skies and bright sunshine past Yeavering and Kelso, some light rain through Hawick, and beautiful again at D&G. All in all, a lovely autumnal day through the borders. 🙂
 
So much for the forecasts.
Hot & sticky until mid- pm .
Cooler and cloudy.
Management had a bad fit of gardening enthusiasm.
She can't use her credit card, while swinging a mattock.
Spot on teatime, the first raindrops arrived.
By the time we'd put the outdoor kitchen electrics away, it had stopped. We had to eat inside .. The first time for months.
Lovely evening now. No breezes, stars peeping through the gaps in the light cloud.

Then I checked the weather website.

Drove from Aberdeenshire to Bamburgh today. Beautiful weather the whole way and to crown such a lovely trip the new aircraft carrier Prince Charles was lurking just beneath the Queensferry Crossing as we went over.

What a shame not to see you, as we were at Bamburgh whilst visiting relatives yesterday evening. We tried to park beneath the castle, but they have blocked off the card payment option. So we parked for free on the green opposite the church.

It remains a lovely mild night in Dumfries and Galloway, but cloud is hiding the Dark Sky.

It’s been a mixed day here but mainly dry. Apparently the Northern Lights are performing well with clear skies further North.

We were in the car and stayed over in Bamburgh on the way south so that we could have a meal in The Potted Lobster. Fabulous meal last night and stunning sunrise this morning.5AC92317-7C78-46C6-9ADB-9869607E8203.jpeg
 
Both forecasters agreed that we would get 8 gentle hours drizzle from 5pm yesterday.
Nothing appeared until we started cooking outside.
Cleared it all away, as the first drops fell.
By the time we'd done that, The sky was blue again.
12.30am, it started to pitter patter.
I gave it 30minutes, then got up to find my raincoat.
By the time I'd got outside, to check the cisterna connection....
It had stopped.
Zilch !
Not enough to even clean the roof tiles.

They're forecasting the same for tonight.
 
Three years ago today, a very good friend passed away from MND. We spent the day with his widow, walking around Threave Gardens and enjoying a lunch elsewhere.

The day was lovely, mild, light cloud, and a light breeze. Perfect for friends to enjoy a catch-up. 🙂

After forecast overnight rain we had the pleasure of heavy rain on the road south until near Chorley when the rain stopped.

Off to a recommended pub later for an evening meal and a forecast dry night. 👍

It's a beautiful day in Lancashire as we bimble south, chilly, but with wide blue skies. The forecast is for rain at Cirencester, but by the time we arrive it will have turned to sunshine. 👍

Beautiful trip home in the car to Aberdeenshire from York - sunshine all the way and surprisingly no traffic issues apart from a slow spell on the A1 round Newcastle and a contraflow section just south of Purdy Lodge. Total distance of 330 miles and car only needed one charge while we had lunch at Purdy Lodge!
 
After a detour to a churchyard in the Cotswolds, and about 1100 miles of driving, the road home was wet, just as forecast.

It didn't faze either of us because we had met and formed friendships with Northumbrian relatives we didn't know we had, visited a remote churchyard to pay our respects, kept a promise to a colleague up an isolated valley in D&G, and tended Yvonne's parents grave.

That meant more to both of us than a spot of occasional poor weather. 👍 🙂
 
Dry.
Warm.
Southerly breezes.
No change there, then.
Birdsong, fresh arrivals daily.
Noisy Hoopoe, serenaded us at breakfast.
Sign of changing weather?
Hope so.!
 
All change this morning.
Clouds bundling in from from the south.
Looking glum for the golfers on the coast.
One website has just changed its forecast from broken cloud and sunshine, to full cloud cover.
The other one forecasts showers later.
We have about a week's supply of water in our tanks.
