Weather Report..................

Absolutely miserable journey (in the car) down the M90, over the Queensferry Crossing and round the Edinburgh City Bypass to Penicuik this afternoon. Queues all the way for no obvious reason except very very heavy rain and lots of surface water. Best part was lunch at the Fife Arms in Braemar en route.

Terry I managed to find a way round the dreadful Hermiston Gate queues the other week when I was heading south by stopping off at the Tesla Newbridge superchargers then taking the B7030 from there to the A71 so I could hit the bypass at Calder Junction. This time round the whole area was queued at Claylands. In hindsight I should have gone through town and out via Morningside. Never mind, we’re here now and after a few wines the journey has been forgotten? Up early tomorrow though to take 2 year old granddaughter to dance classes at Loanhead!!
And why on earth does everybody have to crawl across the Queensferry Crossing even when the road is clear?
 
It's a shame for the bone dry soil, but we're probably going to escape today's rain.

From an early bright start we've light cloud and moderate westerlies throughout the rest of the morning, steadily brightening as the afternoon draws on. The whole day will remain pleasantly warm. ⛅ 🌥️ ⛅

I was up at 5 this morning and sat in the conservatory reading as it was bright and sunny, made a cup of tea when back to carry on reading and it went black, and the heavens opened, it stopped after a while and it is now quite cloudy, I can see a bit of blue but I think there is more rain to come shortly 13c outside.
 
Managed to avoid the rain and wind by taking shelter when necessary so had a really nice walk in, mainly, sunshine, round the Easter Bush estate. Pretty impressive place for mainly a scientific research facility. All spoilt by having to make a return trip along the Edinburgh Bypass to the airport to collect son-in-law.
