Struggled to sleep the past couple of nights in FIL house in Penwortham (Preston) due to the heat. Back home in Aberdeenshire now (after a pretty stressful couple of days getting the old boy ready for moving to a care home today) and really looking forward to a decent nights sleep as it’s a much more sensible temperature up here tonight. Still sunny at the moment but a nice 14 deg.
Funny, but even now I breath a sigh of relief when I know that I've safely passed that dodgy low bridge in Chartres where so many have lost their roof.
We had an unexpected shower of rain in East Sussex, late afternoon. It didn't last long and the ground quickly dried out, so I cut the grass in advance of forcast thunderstorms in a days time.
It's fantastic to see you both away and enjoying yourselves again, Bill. Well done!
The forecast thunderstorms passed by to the north of us. We had some fantastic heavy rain early morning that helped the garden, and once it cleared we've had a lovely warm day with 20 degrees and the lightest breeze.
After a mild night, it's already 19 degrees and turning into a lovely warm day with gentle south-westerlies. There's the chance of an odd shower this afternoon, but the garden needs it.
(Don't rely on BBC weather temps at the moment as they are experiencing glitches.)
Oh oh !
Good day to sit in the shade, fan wafting back and forth.
Ice cube production on overtime.
Test Match Special on the Radio.
That will just have to do.View attachment 121121
