Clear morning but we went into Carmarthen to B&Q so missed most of it.
Came back and managed to mow the lawns. Then managed to re-dress my lawn seeded patches where a pheasant has been digging up and eating all the seeds; then covered them in see through plastic to stop said pheasant...hopefully!
We have a breeze and hazy cloud.
It's brought the temperature under the parasol down from 42, to a balmy 38.
A pair of Bonelli's Eagles is gliding the thermals.
That's shut up the birdsong.
I'll try a photo of them..
Cricket.. !
We have a hillside of them here. Millions . All chirping in unison .
Until I try you get a recording of them.. Then they shut up.
35 breezeless degrees.
Good day to do naff all.
Plan B has just been agreed :?
About to join friends for a cool boozy lunch, under trees
First time we've met, since well before lockdown.
Both wives are diabetic teetotalers .
Both husbands...
Thirsty.
Grey and occasional drizzle but its not dampening our spirits as we start prepping the van for its fishing and chilling excursion ....... must remember to top up the gas before we get too far, otherwise
As we crossed the, now free, bridge into Wales the rain started and was on/off for most of the day. Not much pittering on the roof now, so hoping for a drier day.
I'm now making my way slowly southwest-wards in the Moho with a view to helping one of the Offsprung move house from southern Cornwall to northern Cornwall.
Yesterday was a day of driving in driving rain.
This morning it's dry with the gentlest of breezes and the sky's a lot brighter at last.
Seems like we are all on the move, left drizzly Cheshire to arrive in drizzly Staffordshire, hey ho. As Bill said, hoping for better conditions tomorrow.
Are you near Bishop's Auckland..
If you fancy a little wild camping, near the River Wear... PM. Me.
I'll have to swear you to secrecy, though..
Steam trains..
There's a lovely carpark at Shildon, used as overflow, for the Rail Museum.
Nearby, is the world's ultimate greasy spoon cafe . Huge, classic breakfasts, ridiculously cheap..
If they've survived lockdown though.?
Weather..
Mercifully cool 28 degrees in the gentle breezes.
Was 46, in the full sun.
