Weather Report..................

Rain fell on Hertfordshire last night but this morning the Rain Gods have directed it to a more needy location.
It's very mild at 14°C and the sky is brightening as I type with no rain forecast for the remainder of the day.
My arms ache from the exercise I got yesterday from hanging on to my new 4-line Peter Lynn Uniq kite!

Colin :):):)

The storm arrived later than hoped for.
Drizzle started at 2300, as the wind picked up.
Not enough to clean the roof off, so turned in at midnight.
Woke at 1am with a heavy squall rattling the skylight.
It calmed down after 15 minutes, so I nipped out, wearing only a hat, (To keep my hair dry ).
As I was connecting the cisterns, a gust blew the hat off.... And the rain clattered down.
30mm fell in 7 hours.
The same is forecast for later today.
That's the drought sorted for this year.
Hope it hasn't washed our lane away.?
Luckily the builder came in good time . All is sound.
The Hovel is safe and dry...
So far.

Woah !
That was an interesting 20 hours...! Red weather alert !

Gales, two lots of 30mm+ rainstorms and a suspicious sounding " Fflump ", from the neighbouring ruin.
Something has collapsed and we've had a little water coming through. Something for our builder to explore... Good job we haven't paid him yet.
It's calming down now and more drizzle is expected, until the weekend.

Never bored..!

Mmm.!
Interesting.
We managed to tip toe down the lane, in the C1, me picking a route out ahead, on foot.
But no chance of getting back up with a load of shopping.
The Mayor was already aware of the problem, He's a near neighbour . So it will, eventually, be sorted.
A few showers, this morning and sunny spells, between.
We had to put the air-con on for a spell , driving back .
