The chilly wet weather has gone, for now. We've a superb day with a bright blue sky, gentle easterly breeze, and 27 degree high.

Pure blue sky in sunny Blackpool and should remain so as we head for the Lake District for a couple of days. 27 degrees possibly later!

We expected drizzle..

We got a little drizzle.

Then a sudden, southerly squall crashed in and deposited about a ton of rainfall in under 10 minutes..

Straight in, horizontally through the open kitchen window

All calm again now with Westerlies bringing the odd shower.

Really greened up the landscape.

Left home on Saturday and via a quite tortuous route (stopovers at West Wemyss Harbour, Glencaple, Old Lamb Inn Ravenstonedale) we are now parked up on FIL drive in Preston clearing his house out. Absolutely stunning drive down in glorious weather but now too hot for shifting furniture about! Have to go for a lie down in the garden soon

Today we'll have a blue sky and an extremely hot 30 degrees, with little cooling breeze.

We've already closed the curtains and blinds to keep the extreme heat out. It worked fine when we lived abroad, and it works fine here.
