Forecast says it's N.N.E. They don't live here.
4 degrees at midnight.
No need to keep the Champagne in the fridge, it'll be on the window sill, as we watch the fireworks.

Well tonight was a lovely surprise.

On leaving friends after celebrating the New Year, I heard a Nightingale singing his heart out. I knew they were local, but it's a first time I've heard them here at night.

It's stopped raining, but it'll return tomorrow.

11 degrees and a very wet n windy start to the new year. The forecast is freezing weather from tonight for several days.

......... On leaving friends after celebrating the New Year, I heard a Nightingale singing his heart out. I knew they were local, but it's a first time I've heard them here at night .....

That's my first clanger of the New Year. A friend in D&G tells me that nightingale's are migratory, and that what we all heard was more likely to be a blackbird.

We strong winds and heavy rain all day, exactly as forecast.

Happy New Year all, heavy overnight rain in Cheshire, its stopped for now but a much cooler 4° with a forecast high of 6°.

Sparkling, bright New Year's Day
Feeling like 11 degrees with a mild N.E. breeze.
Saw the old year out, Sitting on a vantage point, overlooking the town, seeing off a bottle of good fizz. 10 degrees at midnight... So much for the 4 degrees forecast..
There we were, wearing multi layers, looking like elderly Wombles.
Very muted fireworks displays.
Evidently the price of fireworks has gone up, due to shortage of explosive chemicals.
Odd, that.
Can't understand why ?
