This shop in Hadleigh, Essex caught my eye earlier today.



It was full of expectant local (Essex) girls. They looked disappointed.
It put a smile on my boat race good an proper, mate.

Dandelions are fascinating plants. They have an interesting alternative common name which refers to the effect of the diuretic they produce, are great in salads (all parts of the plant are edible), the roots can be roasted and used to make a drink quite unlike decent coffee and the word dandelion refers to the leaf shape.
There must be other interesting facts about such a common yet beautiful plant ..................................

yes i do ike all the wildflowers, dandelions, buttercips daisies..etc....even have some of those tall flowers which you see growing beside the railway tracks...dont know what you cll them...they do give nice display tho......peonies are out in full bloom at the moment.......pity they dont last very long.......

Barrie (Oldish Hippy) pointed out a barn owl to me this morning. It was flying from fence post to fence post on the field boundary, presumably looking for escapees from the adjacent Banham Zoo.
I haven't seen a barn owl for some time - and certainly not in daylight.
It made me, Barrie and Dave (Splitty) smile!
