Which motorhome insurance company do you use and why?

hi guys . its all right saying how good your insurance is non of you have said HOW much you pay only me . we or i need to know to compare as mine is up for renewal . cheyenne P.S don't take this the wrong way please
Hi Cheyenne, I did not post how much I was quoted because I have multiple vehicles, house and travel insurance with LV=. It is best you get a quote for your location and circumstances. However if this helps....I live in Central Scotland my moho insurance was £171.98 at renewal, down from £238 in 2022. NCD protected. EU for 90 days covered. Breakdown from CSMA (Boundless) £75 I think.
NOT trying to convert anyone to LV just giving OP details of our experiences.

Safeguard because they offer me the cover that I require at a competitive premium. Their paperwork is straightforward and accurate. I used AIB last year and vowed never again: paperwork appalling and potential extra charges left, right and centre.
I am believing that as I looked at my policy with them the other day and discovered that a fire in the van was not covered if caused by gas, if the system had NOT been installed by professionals, I did my own instalation eeckk and also only £600 glass cover including wind screen and no accommodation if I needed somewhere to sleep after my mishap putting petrol in the diesel tank in Portugal, fortunately I was able to stay with the van 3 nights waiting for the garage to assist me, it was weekend a public holiday I only have about 4 more weeks before renewal so will be shopping around for sure not sure what other surprises their policy holds?

Safeguard for me after a bad experience with AIB. Easy to deal with and they do what they promise!

Was with Comfort for a number of years but then their premiums started to go silly.
Yes I dropped Comfort after many years with them because during the start ov Covid I scorned the van and the insurance ran out too and I told Comfort what I had done when I put the van back on the road Comfort wanted an extra £200 claiming I was a new customer in their terms bye Comfort and we have just been in Portugal for 3 months and scorned our car whilst away and the insurance ran out during this period again Cfort said sorry new Customer again so again bye bye Comfort I had insured car and van with them for 10 years counted for nothing,

AIB. But...

Last year we had 5 insurance policies with other people all drop at renewal, and not by insignificant amounts.

AIB increased it but did reduce it when I called. If they try the same again this year I'll have to have a look around.

We have been with Devit insurance for last five years, always competitive and knock the socks off other quotes, We do however park our MH when home in a secure storage centre.

As has been said previously, you don’t know how good they are till you need to claim. That said, I have been with Caravanguard for the last 3 years, competitive prices including breakdown and European cover as well
