Shopping in Oxford with my daughter - we happened to stand in front of the men's swimming shorts in very bright colours ..... I said they remind me of Colin's beauties and Claire said they reminded her of Charlie, both at Hereford....

.........and both displaying great taste in the shorts department.

Met up for the first time in 12 years with my three friends from training 37 years ago.

Green trees, blue sky, bright sunshine and warm air made me smile early this morning.
And I'm still smiling.

Colin ???

This campervan in St Albans made me smile today:

BBC reporter saying “Victoria beckham could smile”!!!! ??

Watching sparrows getting nest material from old clematis seed heads, they fly off with a moustache!

"The trouble with doing nothing is not knowing when you're finished."

Groucho Marx can generally make me smile.
(Though also attributed to, amongst others, Benjamin Franklin).

When I read this:-

"I found my first grey pubic hair this morning. But aside from that, my nan makes an excellent bacon & egg sandwich."

Thanks, Chris.
I laughed for quite a while over that one.

Until I realised I had a half eaten bacon and egg sandwich in front of me.

Colin ???

Thanks Chris for that and pleased I wasn’t eating a bacon and egg sandwich!

Comments whilst having a tent erection party at Applewood made me grin:

"You need to get your leg over that one, Lee".

"Do try to keep your end under control, Colin".

Obviously both from the ladies.

Dandelions are fascinating plants. They have an interesting alternative common name which refers to the effect of the diuretic they produce, are great in salads (all parts of the plant are edible), the roots can be roasted and used to make a drink quite unlike decent coffee and the word dandelion refers to the leaf shape.
There must be other interesting facts about such a common yet beautiful plant ..................................

Colin ???

yes i do ike all the wildflowers, dandelions, buttercips daisies..etc....even have some of those tall flowers which you see growing beside the railway tracks...dont know what you cll them...they do give nice display tho......peonies are out in full bloom at the moment.......pity they dont last very long.......

Barrie (Oldish Hippy) pointed out a barn owl to me this morning. It was flying from fence post to fence post on the field boundary, presumably looking for escapees from the adjacent Banham Zoo.
I haven't seen a barn owl for some time - and certainly not in daylight.
It made me, Barrie and Dave (Splitty) smile!

Barrie and Rae met under Annie's awning a few moments ago and shared views on the merits and drawbacks of various Moho battery charging systems, solar panels, wind generators, waste water disposal, engines and gearboxes (including part numbers) etc, etc, etc.
Annie yawned and sighed. Waited a couple of minutes then politely yawned and sighed once more........

..............and asked them if they had deliberately chosen her to bore the arse off this wonderful morning.

That made me crease up! Thanks Annie.

Having new members (new to the site and/or new to meets) socialising at Applewood made me smile today.
Long may it last.
